Tanky I got the CMK cockpit from Hannants in the UK, not sure if CMK is available in the US, ought to be though. The pit came with a resin tub, PE pedals, belts and instrument panel, as well as a Vac form hood, and photo film instruments. Once built it's about 2 inches long. I think it cost me about £6.00, or $12.

Razor What'll really bake your noodle was that the wings of the glide bomb were made of concrete!!!!!! That, and from a release height of 12,000 feet, it had a range of 150 miles.

Hey Tom and Tanky, I was trying to put something witty in Spanish but the old Babel fish translator on the web just couldn't handle Brewster Buffalo. Big Smile [:D]

Tanky -

about 3 blocks... no seriously about 150 miles... but it is such a mixing pot down here... there are neighborhoods that are 100% hispanic within a mile of me... so there is actually an abundance of culture nearby.. only time I got to the border is to get cheap stuff...

besides last time we went to the border my wife almost got deported "back" to Mexico... and she was born in the US and raised in Colombia! Never went to Mexico until she met me!!! that would have been bad! haha..

hmmm.... I'll trade you Colombian and Mexican recipes if you slide me some Indian ones! Also I am Cajun so I can get you all the authentic Cajun recipies you care for!!!

Hehe. That buffalo is one ugly plane isn't it? I'll buy it one day when I'vve shrunk the stash a bit. Sounds like some really good food Tom. How far are ya from the Mexican border?

ok, for a small loan today to buy it, I will gladly provide you with the Buffalo on Tuesday...

Tanky --- if you ever come to Southern Texas you need to sample "Elotes" it is fire roasted corn on the cob, with Mayonaisse, parmesan cheese, lemon juice and chile sauce (about as hot as Indian food) etc... it is to DIE for!!! I could eat 12 of them if my stomach could handle it!! sometimes there are even more condiments to add.. depends on which stand you go to! (they are to S. Texas what hot dog and pretzel stands are to NYC)

Tanky - you forget I live in Texas... going to Taco Bell for Mexican food is like buying an old monogram snap tite kit and putting PE and a resin cockpit in it... it just aint right!!! Wink [;)]

The only Mexican restaraunts I frequent are the ones that no one speaks English in... ¡Solamente lo mejor!

Oh, in that case, go to Taco Bell pick me up some nachos and cheese, then to McDonalds for an Apple Pie, of you go to Home Depot to get me some lacquer thinner, then to your hobby shop to get me the Tamiya Brewster Buffalo. Post when you're done with all that and I'll have more instructions ready.Laugh [(-D]Laugh [(-D]

KJ, yup that's the one. Mine isn't gonna turn ut nearly as nice as yours but whatever. Where did you get the CMK cockpit BTW?

Tanky Is that the 1/72 kit? If so I built one as my first model in 15 years when I returned to modelling a couple of years back. Liked it so much I just had to build the one with Hagelkorn glide bomb.Dirt cheap little, kit, but I added a CMK cockpit and dropped flaps, as well as adjusted flight surfaces and an open cockpit. Love that little kit, here's a couple of pictures;

As for the Hurricane I've achieved very little, the bulk of my effort going on the squiggle camo on my much delayed Do217K, as well as some work on my Ju287.

Hopefully next week will see a little more progress, especially now I have a few ref. photos.

It's a nice kit except for the canopy. I've built 2, first one OOB but the second one I used an Aftermarket canopy. Actually designed for the Hasegawa kit, but it fit ok with a little fudging.

great Mike!!! I plan to get some paint on my Typhoon for the Aussie build today... weather willing, looks like it might come a rain storm so I may have to hold off.. I can paint the interior of the P-47 for the Latin American build if that is the case...

Haha. This Group Build never fails to give me a laugh. I'm about to start an FW-190 A8 for the Not Applicable GB. It says strictly AFV's in the rules, so my FW-190 will definitely fit the bill!Wink [;)]

hope your airbrush is working too Tanky... you have started a long trail of trials and tribulations in modeling... we all have them...

Por ejemplo -

today I sprayed my Typhoon for the Aussie GB silver, wanted to see how that upper fuselage was looking before painting... ends up there were minute pieces of the damp tissue I placed in the cockpit for spraying - on the fuselage!!!... evidently before it dried it was touching... anyway long story short I had to sand off the tissue with 1500 grit to be able to repaint it tomorrow... (going to try the salt chipping method on it so had to spray the wing leading edges and forward fuselage aluminum first...)

even though my airbrush works I still have issues Tanky... just repeat that to yourself through gritted teeth as you go on your path of modeling... "I have issues... ISSUES!!!" hopefully less issues than me.... Wink [;)]

Sorry, guys haven't been here lately. Somewhere between the physics homework, history homework, tearing apart my 155 and the Mig-29 (yes I'm cheating on my Do-17 with a mig-29) I didn't get any progress done. The next thing I have to do is future so I hope to god that that thorough cleaning fixed my airbrush.

Jay: That's a nice pair you got there! The Huricane does look nice in silver but wasn't part of the fuselage fabric? Propeller [8-] Now lets see some camo!

Hey JB, your Hurricane is sure looking good! What did you use for the silver paint? Also, I will check the decal dungeon for roundels but don't get your hopes up.

Cheers

Jay The Hurricane looks great in silver, reminds me of photos of the prototype in it's all silver scheme.

I've managed to do nothing so far today, but I'm hoping to get the landing and nav lights in this weekend, with a final coat of silver. Pre-shading and top coats will have to wait until next weekend, but then it is going to be black all over!!!!

Tanky Any chance of some Chicken Jafrezi, with naan, pilau rice and some onion bhajis? It's just that I've developed a curry habit, second only to my styrene habit!!!

Looks like good progress Jay. The Hurricane does look good in Silver, but I think it looks better in camo.
