Looking good Jason!!! What kits and paint are you using? Particularily interested in the aircraft interior paint that you used.

ok now i am going to show you something. please be kind to me as this is my first time.

SCRATCHBUILDING

let me preface this by saying that i did use the bland seat and the flooring provided by the revell/monogram p-40b kit. but i added some things to try to make it better. i have so far done the seat (minus the seatbelts), the instrument panel, and some of the sidepanels. enough talk. pics.

i am sorry for the blurry pics. the camera i used doesnt like closeups.

It's awesome to check in and see everyone's progress. Unfortunately for me, I have a slight change of plans. I just received a Tamiya 1/48 wildcat that is screaming for some AM goodies, and I think that's what I'll submit. I need the Christmas break to get started however, so please be patient. Cheers!

Well i had a chance for alot of build time this weekend. The left and right booms are glued together. I finished off the grille inserts here's a better shot of the nose section. i still need to lay a final detail on the cockpit and nose. i added a small rod brace to the back of the seat because it was to flat, it just didn't look right.( i did get around to takeing the tape off that wing by the way)

and here's the booms before i closed them. the black is the rad area where there was grille added and a plate to cover the fact you could see straight through

see you next weekend

Cruzr,

The P 38 is looking good and progressing well.

Joe,

Progress is looking good, scratchbuilt or not that's excellent so far, with the ideas of the styrene and foil. Your new digi cam will take a bit to master.

Jason,

I did one of my TBF-1c years ago [in the same tri scheme], using the AeroMaster RNZAF decals of 'Plonky'. The RNZAF markings are a kit decal option, for the kit you have, My other Avenger will be in RNFAA markings. I am intending to use the Alclad II paints on the B 24 which I have started, [part of an RAAF contract].

that is a very nice looking lightning that you have.
i went to the LHS yesterday to get my kit for this GB, but instead i ended up spending the money on a finemolds X-wing.[:S] i will get it next week after the allowance comes in.

hi guys,

seen some nice looking pics in these last couple of pages.

my Kate progress: cockpit all done, inserted into fyselage, added wings and tailplane, and have now painted underside IJN grey (Hassy says silver, but from i've read, they are wrong).
only goof was to put the lowerhalf of that big old wing on with superglue without drilling the holes for the bomb holder![:0] spent the next hour on the net looking for technical drawings and pics of the underside!Black Eye [B)]

hold on, does that mean i was trawling the net looking at pictures of Kate's undies??!! i could get reported for that!!!Laugh [(-D]Laugh [(-D]Laugh [(-D]

off to do some masking now so i can put the top coat on.

still haven't "futured" the canopies...not looking forward to that bit!![:0]

kind regards,

nicholas

Hi,

Some good progress with the models in this group so far.
Thanks for the kind words regarding my Zero build, much help was given by Rob [Lobbie to most members].

Joe, I like your concept of scratchbuilding, reminds me of someone else we both know.

Glen.
