no, it's the upper panels that run back to the seats.... I placed them wrong and so after taking them apart, i'll try to sand off the dried glue and reposition them, but i may just restart.... it's an easy kit that i just wasn't paying attention to at the time.

Nice work RobThumbs Up [tup]

Got some really nice builds going on here.

I haven't managed to start on my Zero yet, have to finish my 109 for the Ol Guns GB, and with Grand Finals on time is non existent.

But I reckon by the 20th, I'll be stuck into the Zero.
Should be an easyish build, gonne be OOB except for some PE flaps etc.
Should be fun!

Looking good missle, did you put lights in that thing or is that just a reflection in the middle photograph? If it has lights... Coooooolll!

As for the badge, best thing to do is click on it (left click? I'm a mac user) and do a save as and put it on your own web space.

Good progress there missle, interesting little model.

The 'Jill' is almost to painting stage, this is a Hasegawa kit in 48, I'm using the kit option of folded wings, [as they had been moulded as optional], the torpedo is sitting next to the model just for comparison to the aircraft.
The cowling has been painted but has not been fitted to the fuselage, it just sitting on it's mountings [also for the benifit of the pix]

Missle, you have a great looking build there, what kit is that and is it in 1/48 scale?

Rob, the Jill looks like she is going to be a beauty. What color black are you using or is that just flat black?. I am doing a Jack and Im looking for a Blue Black color.

THAD,

The cowling on the 'Jil' is the strange blue/black, AeroMaster did it in their 'Warbird' range of acrylic paints for Japanese aircraft, sadly no one has produced this colour since.

I did mix this strange colour some years ago [before I got hold of the acrylic AeroMaster colour], for a Fujimi 'Val' using Humbrol paints by mixing 50/50 of #15 and #201, this worked ok for that particular model, once it's dry and coated with a flat finish it looked good, one thing Humbrol's # 201 is a metalic black and by adding more to the mix you can deteriorate the outlook into a more beaten up blackish/blue colour.

I hope this helps a little.

well here's an update. the cockpit and gun bay are almost done. just need to go back and give them a once over for detail. i've got some of the grilles cut and installed. I have a pic but it's kinda blurry. the digi cam i borrowed doesn't like small things. i'm going to buy a disposable and take pics as i go then post the lot.

once again sorry for the bad pic

Darwin and Lobbie - Thanks for the kind words.

Razor - That is (Unfortunately) a reflection from the camera. But, not a bad idea. Will have to give that some thought.

Thad - Thanks, The kit is 1/48 and is the old Testors / Italerie (sp) kit that is packaged with the V-1 Buzz bomb. (Got it on ebay...lol)

Gent's,

Here is my completed Rebaul Zero, it is in 48 scale from Hasegawa, sorry for not having any progress shots, as I had to borrow a camera, thanks to Rob [Lobbie to the forum], for the use of your digital and assisting with supplying the colours for this build and the tips on chipping the paintwork. The Harness is an Eduard colored PE for IJN and the cowling is AeroMaster acrylic blue/black, alsothe primer brown and the ID yellow, were also from the AeroMaster 'Warbird' range of enamels, the model was first painted in Tamiya AS-12, the enamels used including the interior primer, are from the Xtra Colour range for IJN aircraft. The decal are from an AeroMaster set. Eduard masks were used on the canopy.

The chipping effect was created with a tooth pick, wet and dry and an emery board. when done the panels were highlighted with Tamiya acrylic smoke, then the entire model was covered in 3 coats of Testor's Dullcoat. The base is a Scale Magic item and a sujestion of Rob's.
