Tweets No worries mate. Glad I could help you out. Some of the bell pics are a bit blurry, but I think you can see what s going on in most of them.

And, F-22 Pingy sounds good. Thumbs Up [tup]

I finally got my Spit VIII in the mail, customs did unmentionable things to it including stuffing up one of the wing walk decals!

Might have a bash at a 1:72 Boomer as well....if I get time!

cheers

I've not made any progress. I'm a bit obsessed with the Mirage at the moment (which is going to be SAAF, not a GB topic). My project at work has gone critical as well, so I'm getting burnt out on that. Hoping to get up to Fighter World on the weekend for a photo-session so hopefully I'll get to see some 127's while there to inspire me (& answer some questions).

Zippo from me I'm afraid, I have a major implementation coming up and between that and family stuff I'm not finding a lot of time for modeling.

Cheers

Haven't had much time for modelling here eitherSad [:(]

2 weeks into my new job, and I'm already close to burn out!!
And I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!Big Smile [:D]Approve [^]

Kinda hoping that this weekend I'll be spending some quality time with my Bell 47, she really is feeling the neglect, and I should treat her better.Ashamed [*^_^*].

But at least I have managed to lay some paint on the tail section, so it kinda looks ok, but have to go over the top section with a lighter colour, for some weathering effects B4 I get to carried away with the c/p and engine.

I'm now the Operations Manager for the largest plumbing/gas fitting company in town.

Kinda strange how things happen really.
My last job was eating me away at a fast rate of knots, then a guy came in to work with a broken tv system in his car, and after I fixed it, he offered me a jobConfused [%-)]

Apparently I have a very good reputation in townConfused [%-)]

So yeah, now I earn a bucket of cash with perks to make your head spin, and the trade off is my time.Boohoo [BH]

Thats ok though, I give it another fortnight and it'll all settle down

Tweets - I see Kremps came through for ya! She knew you were down a bit and thought you could use a boost... she said don't worry, you'll get the hang soon and it will be gravy! It will be like back in Burma she said... remember how she used to bark prders to the sharpas? That'll be you soon...

Good to see you back... both you and Jules (and I of course) have been scarce lately... nice to come back home!!! I see Happy Acres hasn't changed a bit!!!

where do you think the USMC got their model for drill instructers? have you ever seen "Full Metal Jacket"? that has Kremps written all over it!

Well... I am busy making an agonizing decision tonight... I am thinking of setting the Typhoon aside for awhile as work is denying me the chance to really make any headway... (my fault mostly) around the upper cockpit there is a bit of a putty nightmare needing to be done... the upper part of the fuselage around the cockpit is all separate... 3 pieces glued in... problem is after I glued it in I noticed it doesn't sit just right even though I used Ambroids and held it in place till dry. I cannot get the seams just like I want them... there still seems to be a bit of a gap... more than I am comfortable with to paint over.

I am thinking of doing a FB.MkVI Mosquito in aluminum dope scheme, in Aussie markings... it's a Tamiya kit so I think it will fit together good.. and I will do the Typhoon later. Not sure yet, I am going to sleep on it I believe...

oh yeah the link to the plane:

http://modelingmadness.com/scotts/decals/aero/am48428.htm

it's the silver one... (of course)

Tom, you could do a heck of a lot worse than the Tamiya Mossie. From what I have read it's supposed to be a real gem. As an alternative you might want to consider the Tamiya Beaufighter with Eagle Strike decals. All the parts for the Aussie version are in the kit.

Sean, Glad things are working out so well job wise. The only thing I can't figure out is how you managed to get a "very good reputation in town" Big Smile [:D]Big Smile [:D]. Congratulations again.

BTW, have either of you heard from Jules lately?

Tom, If you do the silver dope Mozzie there's one in the Oz War Memorial. I have a few pics of it here:
http://www.bandhaboy.fotki.com/raaf_aircraft/mozzie/

BTW: All of you Sabre Tarts, I mad it up to Fighter World at Williamtown RAAF Base today & I'm uploading new pics now. I'll put more detail in the general Oz forum.

That Beaufighter is on my list, although I just bought the Accurate Minatures B-25 C/D. Great looking kit (yes, I know about the cowls, resin replacements have been ordered), shame so much detail gets hidden away.

Haven't heard a peep from him mate!
I think he is on the same boat as us, Zero Time.

Tom Full Metal Jacket seems like Kremps' style, she really knew how to get us ol' farts through an obstacle course.

Carl - thanks for the link! I noticed those beaufighters last night as well and may think about doing one of those... I love thos night schemes! which one are you doing, assuming it is the same decal sheet... dont wanna overlap if I decide to do one.,..

Darren - no word here either... I emailed him to see if he got the decals I sent and no response as of yet...

Zero time sums it up well SeanSad [:(]we just moved into our new house on Monday and i've been flat out lugging beds fridge's and all that stuff around, but on the bright side of things my PC is up and running so i can start posting regularly againCool [8D]As far as build time goes i havn't touched my models in about 3 weeks but hopefully i can get my gear set up and start building again in a week or so, whether or not i'll be able to squeeze the Sabre in is open for debate considering the lack of time i have to build at the moment, i may have to go for another Spit MK VIII......

Bandha, I've got the whole shooting match for the DAP Beaufighter Mk.21, the Tamiya kit, resin cockpit, Aussie decals, etc, etc. I keep meaning to pull it out for the Aussie GB but never actually get round to doing it Tongue [:P]
If you are looking for a list of the mods required to the Tamiya kit, check this out http://hsfeatures.com/features04/beaufighter21dc_1.htm

Jules, another Spit huh Thumbs Up [tup], what scheme do you have in mind?

Believe it not I've actually made some progress on the Buffalo, not much but enough to keep me progressing. I tell you the more I read and research the Brewster Buffalo the more depressed I get thinking of the men who had to fly it. How on earth a company that made horse drawn buggies wound up making a combat aircraft baffles me.

Cheers

Darren I'm planning on doing one in the same colour scheme that you did yours in, i already have the green/brown one flown by Gibbes and the ICM Mk VIII kit is was planning on doing in Calwells markings which is also Brown/geen so i think the grey/green camo would be the one to do...........

darren I did a DAP Mk.XXI beaufighter for the last Aussie GB. The Tamiya kit is a great place to start from, it even has the sperry auto-pilot bulge for the nose. I added an Aires resin cockpit, resin hedgehogs and Aussie decals. It all went together easily, no fit problems at all (except for putting the cockpit in, but they are always a pain aren't they?). You'll have fun with yours.

Great reference, thanks for that. That guy really went nuts with it, didn't he? You'd need quite a reference library to get all of those mods done correctly.

There's some good walkaround pics of the Mk.21 beaufighter at hyperscale. Here's the link:

Well, I set the engine aside and started some scratchbuilding of the office using some pics I had lying around (Wink [;)]thanks Pingy!).

So far so good, but I now have to order some styrene sheet, the stuff I have just isn't thin enough and looks a little out of scale.
Or I could sand it down till it's nice and thin.................................................
Yeah, thats doable!

Pics soon when it doesn't look so tacky.
