Still no more progress on the c/p
Planning tonight to at least do the wiring, and then try and figure out how to attach the canopy.
Pretty iffy fit, but not really hard to do, just difficult to get right.

Hmmmm, activity on the GB is pretty low at the moment. Personally I've done naff all on the Buffalo for a couple weeks now. About the only thing I've got to report is that when I picked up a resin seat for my Midway GB Wildcat, I got two in the packet, so seat number 2 is going into the Buffalo. I know it's not 100% accurate but what the heck, it's a pretty close match.

Darren, thats what I like about the Ultracast stuff... the one from the Wildcat also is good in the SBD... same features etc...

Yeah Darren no one is building Aussie at the moment so i guess thats why the thread is a little slow......

I haven't managed to do any model stuff lately but hopefully (fingers crossed) I will finaly manage to eachieve a bit more on the mosquito this weekend. I just have to finish off the interior then it's finally time to put the fueslage halves together.

I also have to finish off a Roden Fokker DVII thats been sitting on the table for months with bugger all activity.

Struggling with my Airifx Boomerang at the moment. Today I sand the filler off the wings!

I may even be able to get the tailplanes on as well.

Worse news is my holidays have ended and I am back at work tomorrow.

Cowling and tailplanes have just been added. Once the cement is dry I will fill and sand all the gaps away, smoothing everything in.

Boomerangs have prominent landing lights on each wing leading edge. Not sure how that is going to be done as yet. I might take the quick and dirty way out and leave 'em off or mask n paint silver. Wink [;)]

Looking good Mike. Is that a 1/72 scale kit? Have fun with that sanding, it's always enjoyable (I know all about it, I'm building an Academy F-14 Yuck [yuck]

Yes, it is the Airfix 1:72 golden oldie, the only one available in this scale. Unfortunately, it is a very basic kit. So it will be a representative Boomerang and I will leave the detail to my 1:48 LTD Boomerang!

Well an amazing thing happened this weekend! I got off my arse and did some modeling!!! I am 70% done with my Laitn American GB kit.. got some more painting done to the Typhoon (wish I had another to build now that I know how to fir the fuselage upper parts on) and am 97% done with my SBD from way back in the Naval Aviation GB... all in all a productive day!!!

Tom I'm with you, I had a great weekend of modeling and actually managed to paint some of the Buffalo. I have finished off the engine and cowling so I'll set that aside for a day or two to cure properly. If I can get my butt into action I'll try and finish off what's left of the cockpit in prep for a wash. Who knows I might even be able to post a pic some time.

Mike, you Boomerang is looking good, can't wait to see it with some paint on. BTW, I don't know what brand it is, but at the VIC Hobby Centre they have a 1/48 Boomerang completed that looks very tasty, I wonder if it's the same kit as your LTD Boomerang?

Jules you're right, it looks like if people have got modeling time available at the moment it's being used to finish off other GB's. I'm sure things will pick up once some of the other builds complete Thumbs Up [tup]

Well all I actually got a bit more done on the Buffalo last night, alternating my time between that and my Midway Wildcat. As I was dry fitting the kit I came to the conclusion that I'm not going to stress too much on the cockpit as once the canopy goes (which is closed) on you won't see much at all. Once I'm happy with the cockpit I'll Future it and then give it a wash to create some shadows.

I spent two easy nights cleaning up all the parts, once done it went together like any other kit. Minimal filler as well. The only reall challenge was the vacc clear parts as I had never worked with vacuform before.

Learned that Gunze does not go over Aermaster/Pollyscale though. it crazes without a Future barrier coat.

Got my handle on another LTD kit, hope that comes to fruition Smile [:)]

It is strange!

Not a big fan of Gunze, so that issue will not occur again, but it was maddening all the same.

I ordered some Pollyscale Foliage Green at the local hobby shop, so now I can get on with the painting.

Oh, that reminds me. Special Hobby are releasing a 1:72 Boomerang soon

Hmmmm, I've never used Pollyscale, and have kitted myself out with Gunze paints almost exclusivey.
Love Gunze, but have been curious about all the Polly rants going on.
Might have to have a look into it.

As for the Bell 47, I have finished the centre console, and made a start on the engine detail, but haven't had a chance to do anything for 2 weeks.
Hopefully later tonight I can have a bit of a meander, hopefully.

It does get a tad annoying, but there isn't alot you can do.
Everyday I sit in my office, and have fleeting thoughts that tonight will be a modelling night.
Bout the same as my plan to win lotto, and you can tell how often that happens eh!

Ah well, the time will come, just have to let the 'busy' phase pass first.

Jobs pretty good actually.
Still got buckets to learn, but scored a $200 grand contract last week, so the boss is pretty impressed with me Wink [;)]

It's strange though, I've been there for a month, and have spent a week and a half on courses getting licenced for all kinds of funky stuff.

Work - groan! My project is just way too hectic of late to let me get much done on that Hawk. We'll be taking the change to production next month so if you see some Qantas staff kicking they're monitors anywhere around the world through May & June it just might be my fault.

Finaly some progress!!!! I just have to paint up the wiring I put in the Mosquito cockpit tonight and I should be able to close the fueslage halves up. From there it isn't that far to finishing the whole acft.

Just a quick update, I think I am just about ready to close up the Buffalo, but I need to check to make sure I haven't missed any of the landing gear bay. I really don't want to be applying glue only to find out I've left a bit or two out.

Bandha I know what you mean, we've just done a major change to the govts private health insurance rebate. Boring I know, complicated and troublesome you'd better believe it.
