marian, how about a mig-29 or an su-27 or something? a mig-21 also would be nice. for ships you could do the kirov or something, or maybe the minsk.

I've looked around, and fallen in love with Trumpeter's 1/48 SU-15TM. Which means I better start brushing up on my rusty wing-thing skills. Smile [:)]

Kewl. I think I will go with a T-72 or a Czech T-55 in a training camouflage scheme.

Well, I cast my vote for a patch for the A/C portion of this GB. I went with Comrade Sergei's small size patch as I like the look of it and it fits better with my other patches. Until a final decision is made, this one will work just nicely.

I like Roadkill's idea of having multiple badges, and people using whichever one they like.

Not to be a total twit, but I created a badge for those of us doing NATO aircraft.

Roadkill, I went ahead and got the 1/400 Russian Kilo class sub. Please add to my contributions for this GB. It's simple, only 14 parts. Yeah right famous last words Black Eye [B)]

Beans, sorry only amateurs are allowed to submit badges. Just kidding, thats real pro work.

EDIT#2 - a total flake I know, I'll be building the 1/35 Trumpeter Mil Mi-24V Hind-E, just ordered it today. Maybe I'll get some AM PE accessories before the build starts (maybe I'll just scratch them)?

Bean, I really like your badge idea. Anthony, go ahead and use two badges, but you'll have to do two kits nowLaugh [(-D]. Welcome aboard I-Beam and gnsnow, you're on the list now.

Just a quick note
I may be scarce here during the week as I have a new job that is taking a lot of time, but I will be checking this every weekend and updating as necessary. Thanks all for joining this, this one is going to be fun.

As a Cold War vet, let me say first this is an awesome idea.

I'll be building the Soviet aircraft carrier Minsk in 1:700.

BTW, I know you've already resolved the start date, but 1 May will be cool because it's May Day and we all remember those Soviet hardware parades in moscow on May Day, don't we?

Oh yeah, the white trim on the wheels and other parts of the vehicles would look great on a model.

I love those mini versions of the badge. I think they should be the formal ones. THe bigger ones take up too much real-estate on the signature.

You're gonna do your first attempt at painting to, eh?Smile [:)]Tongue [:P]Wink [;)] Well, the normal stuff is pastel chalks, oil paints, a silver artists pencil, black acrylic and dish soap if you want a sludge wash, tamiya gun smoke for exhaust stains (or black pastels), old crappy brushes to apply pastels with, maybe some celluclay for mud if you wanna get really messy, and a nice fine tip brush for making paint chips. Oh and don't forget to flat coat the whole thing when you're done or the pastels wil fall right off.
