Blackhawk and nmayhew, you are more than welcome to join up, as is anyone else I've missed. I'll be updating the duty rosters soon and will then begin to add some stuff to the P-40 site which may help those who've chimed in with their build subjects.

And I've made progress on a model, if you can believe that! (me? build?) It's an AMT P-40N that I've turned into a testbed slammer. I'm using it to try a few techniques and to help get myself back into the saddle, so to speak. I'll post some pictures when I get around to doing something interesting with it...

Later!

I love the vague dates. Right up my alley.

I'd like to try my hand at Revell's 1/48 P-40B with AVG markings.

Well, then I suppose the feeling is mutual... Wink [;)] Wink [;)]

I've come up with an official start date on this thing... May 1st... end date... it'll end when it's finished...

So, in conclusion, I shall finish by ending... Tongue [:P]

Sergeant First Class Quagmyre reporting for On The Warpath: The Curtiss P-40 Group Build, Sir.

Plans are to build one of the colorful P-40N Parrotheads of Napier Field, Alabama pictured below from the 1/48 scale Eduard kit sometime later this summer. My rainy day project.Smile [:)] Think I'll play Buffett for inspiration during this build. Big Smile [:D]

Question: Plan on striping and refinishing my Revellogram P-40B around the same time. I want to get the colors right this time. Revellogram sent replacement decals so with exception to engine degreaser and a tooth brush, I'm ready. Would this count as a build too?

Current and Subsequent Projects:

1/48 scale Testors/Lone Star Models PT-22 Recruit - 20% Complete

Okay, I've scrounged up some acceptable decals of a plane I actually find interesting. Pickings are slim in 1/72nd, let me tell ya!

Anyway, for my "N", I'm gonna do Jack Fenimore's No. 28 "O'Riley's Daughter" for the 7th FS (Screamin' Demons) stationed, I believe, at Cyclops Field, Hollandia.

I know this is kind of a cheesy pic but, it's the best I could find right now

That's a nice choice Justen, can't go wrong with the 49th FG! I'd been contemplating doing a 49th ship and then decided to go with the 80th FG and then I thought about those parrots, then I wanted to do sumthin' from the 15th FG... now I dunno what I wanna do! Tongue [:P]

Anyhoo, I'm working quite a bit to get pictures of all the different aircraft you guys are building. Dunno if I'll get 'em all but I'll give it a shot. Should be a big update on the P-40 site towards the end of the week...

Hmmmmmmmmm I would like to get in on this group build. Seeing that I have the monogram P-40B, a Hasegawa P-40E, an Esci P-40E, and the AM Tech P-40F/L. I just can't decide on which one to build.

Would love to build them all, but due to my job, 3 kids playing sports, time is kind of limited at the moment. But you never know, I might be able to.

Sounds good to me, being that my fiancee is working on sunday. Plus the kids don't have any games or practices this weekend. Yeahhhhhhhhhhhhh a free weekend. I have made my decision and I will be doing the Esci P-40E. I have a super scale decal set that I would have to decide on which markings I will do.

I'm trying a few things out on the website before I add any more. Doing a few test pages because I'm not happy with the look of things and want to nail it down before I go nuts adding a ton more stuff. 20 pages isn't a pain to change over... but 120 is... Wink [;)]

And yes, the start date is May 1st. LET'S GET READY TO RUMBLE!!!!!

I can't believe i said that...

If you need a tie-breaker, my vote's on the Amtech kit. There just aren't enough Merlin-motivated P-40's being built these daysWink [;)]

Well last night I did the unthinkable, and had my fiancee pick which one to build. She picked the Hasegawa P-40E. So I am going to build the Hasegawa and the Esci P-40E. Later on if I get time I will do the P-40F/L. The only reason why I am not doing the F/L, is because I really have no experience with resin. Again thank you all for allowing me to join your GB.

Good gal! Good choice... Glad you're aboard with us!

Seeing as we seem to have a shortage of Merlins, maybe I'll change one of my kits to an AMtech F/L, or just add it or... hehe...
