Looks a lttle fuzzy Ga.modler, but you brush cleaner containers look crystal clear! I've had that problem of the camera focusing behind the model too! It still looks great though.

Little progress on the Beaufighter this weekend. I did get some wash applied this morning so I think by weeks end I'll be done. I just have to apply the flat coat, put on the canopy, scratch a k-gun and put the rear bubble on, propellers, lg doors and rig it. just a few days work left. Wink [;)]Tongue [:P] soon very soon.

I'm worried though, if this one took me 3/12 months, how many months will the bolingbroke take and I want to scribe new panels lines!Shock [:O]

MARC - in the few pics that I had found of RCAF 1 hurricanes from that time it looks like scheme 'A' was applied to some of their planes. Being black and white and fuzzy makes it hard to tell though.

Jay I know what you mean about fuzzy pictures. There are not many clear one's of the Sqn's aircraft Oh! well I'll just muddle through. It's amazing how a small kit can take up so much time when we start adding all sorts of bits.

I wan't to thank all the modler/hockey fans for your inspiration. I did not get any work done on my build this weekend however I did finish the wiring and setup of my aviation/home theater room and in the process of running cables I was able to run a cable to my model room. Now I can watch hockey while waiting for the paint to dry. There is much rejoycing.

Cheers

Marc, I need to to get a third TV and set it up in the basement so I can watch some hockey. I was very close last month to buying one but alas, instead I bought some new wheels and can't afford a new tv now. But then again, whay have three TVs in a house with only two people? I keep asking if a 50 inch big screen is just right and invariably the wife says no... oh well.Sad [:(]

Got the flat coat on, now I need to get some pastel weathering on and then I can take some pics.

Jay A 50 inch is definitly right, size does matter. The one I have is an old 13inch however it does the trick plus she can watch it while on the treadmill so I did not get any grief when I advised her of my wiring plans.

I found out today that the squadron code decals I ordered from the Squadron shop got turned back at the borderConfused [%-)] and returned. They're going to try and send it again this week. I hope it will get through this week.

They got turned back?? That's the first I've heard of that happening. However, I finally just recieved an order from squadron that took just over 6 weeks to get to me through the post office. Last time it took about 4 weeks. I've been told that this delay is usually thanks to Canada Customs. I'm just curious as to what kind of delivery time other's North of the border have experienced?

Dave My first order took 4.5 weeks to arrive and I was charged duty on the order. the second order took 11 day's and no duty. What's stranger is that the orders were close in price and material. The third order I placed 4 weeks ago and they got the package back last Friday. It was resent this Tuesday, does anybody want to take a guess when I'll get it??? also I second Daves request has this happened to any body else and what your average shipping time?

Cheers

I have never done mail order. The LHS is usually very well stocked with what I need. Sorry to hear of your problems.

So close to the end I can smell it... no, wait that's just the glue I left open. Anyway, I just have to paint the K-gun and glue the rear bubble canopy on and I am done! Pics very soon. Sheesh this one took for ever to do. I hope the Boly will be much easier.Big Smile [:D]

f-18 is done and looks pretty darn sharp. if you guys havent had the chance to use leading edge decals dont waite any longer thier great. i have the parts coming in for the main landing gear. i decide not to put on missles and still have to panit the ejection seat but to me its all done. pics in a few days. laying down the crossbow and picking up the gun this weekend for deer hunting, that is if we dont get anything from hurrcane willma. hey jay how did you get your badges to rotate like that? thats cool if you can explain it to a computer dummie that would be great.Big Smile [:D]Big Smile [:D]

Ga.modler - If you go to the GB page, at the top is a sticky post by knight667, he did it for me. I first saw Jules have it in his sig and I thought it was pretty cool too. It is an animated .gif and have no idea how kinght667 does it. I did find out that photobucket doesn't handle an animated .gif.

Interesting reading about delivery times from Squadron. Most of my orders take less than three weeks but some have taken over five and others have been about ten days. It all depends on what I've ordered. Heavy items like large orders of books tend to go by surface while light stuff goes air. Interestingly, the dollar value is about the same. What I find really bizzare is that most of my packages have escaped duty. Now razordws is correct about lengthy times being due to customs. Generally, anything from Texas east gets routed through Toronto and generally, Toronto is VERY slow in clearing items, probably because of the huge volume.

Ga Happy hunting and beware of those Elmer Fudd's out there.

bstrump I'll say like you bizzare. I'm on the opposite side of the coin I usualy get nailed for duty 80% of the time, go figure.

This weekend looks good to move my build forward before the dreaded leaf blowing season starts.

Take care all.

I dunno why it takes so long to get from Texas to Canada because the order that we organised in the Battle of Germany GB arrived in Brisbane 9 days after it was ordered...
That did go Airmail though....

International mail has always been faster. The real reason for the longer delays is the policy change by the USPS and Canada Post's failure to deal with the changes adequately. Some time ago, the USPS decided that all mail going to Canada will go to one of three ports of entry only: Montreal, Toronto or Vancouver. Before, mail destined to Calgary would go directly to Calgary and so forth. This change has resulted in huge volumes at the three ports and thus lengthy delays.

Hi,
here's an update of my CF-104. It has advanced a fair bit more since this shot was taken. It was the best of the few I took. Usual problems with getting in close enough to show detail yet still preseve some depth to the items in focus. The kit is pretty much together now and the painting is about 50% complete. Once that is done I 'just' have to add undercarriage & doors, wing tip tanks, decals and the fiddly external bits. http://www.starfighters.net/

Not too much progress ony CT-33, as I try to clear some other builds. I'll try to start in earnest soon. I'm still waiting for those resin bang seats to arrive.

Ta Da!
The long awaited finished Beaufighter is done at last! Propeller [8-]

This Beaufighter TF. X represents EE*S (s.n. NT916) flown by Sqdn Ldr Sidney Shulemson in the summer of 1944. Now I am stil not 100% sure if he flew this aircraft the majority of the time or not. In a conversation I had with him on July 27, he didn't remember the serial number but he said he mostly flew EE*S. I did find a serial for EE*S so that is the aircraft I built. In the book "Canadian Squadrons in Coastal Command" there was quite a list of serials and aircraft numbers, mostly seperate accounts where it mentioned a serial number but no EE*? number or visversa. It did note that NT916 was lost on December 9, 1944 flown by someone else. I believe Sid was seconded to train other units in firing rockets at this time.

Enjoy!Big Smile [:D]

I must warn you this is not my best work. I was able to get this Airfix kit into a reasonable representation but it is definetely not a show model. The three biggest things I had to do was add resin engines, scratch the wheel wells and scratch the interior. I had fun doing this kit and it will be fun to see if I can do Airfix's Blenheim Mk IV by the end of December!

Nice work on the Beaufighter Jay.Thumbs Up [tup] You took a less than adequate kit and made a very pleasing model out of it. Well done!

Work continues slowly on the CT-133 and the Hornet. Still cleaning up seams and I added some True Details seats to the CT-133 to at least fill some space.

Thanks for the comments guys. Jules, I 'm not to happy about the preshade. I heard of one guy in thew aircraft section using marker (sharpie) to pre-shade. It looked really nice before I put the future on. After the future was on it really brought out the lines and it looked way to heavy. Even after putting on a flat coat they look too dark. I think I'm going to try another layer of flat coat as it still seems a little shiney.

Thanks Marc! we are total ecstatic, being maried 7.5 years and FINALLY a little Boutin on the way.
