Gdarwin: Nice work. I know so little about canadian targets/armour but that's why I like these cross gender Group builds.

Anthony: I look forward to seeing those pics.

Jay: glad to hear you are thinking of extending the deadline. I've spent a couple of weeks on the Sunderland and it feels like I've accomplished very little. I've glued all the wing halves together, sanded them and the fuselage halves, cleaned up all the interior and turret pieces, futured the clear parts and I am now attempting to scratch some interior parts. Nothing fancy, I'm just trying to put some floors and bulkheads in so that it is not immediately obvious that the interior is completely empty. There are 36 side windows and I think it would look silly if you looked through the cockpit windows and could see them all. And speaking of the side windows the clear parts all have sink holes and don't sit well in their frames. I expermented with one and filed it down to get rid of the sink hole and concave shape and buffed and futured it and it looks great. Only 35 more to go! Anyway, despite all the whining, I am enjoy the build it is just taking way longer than expected. Typical of airfix I guess. I may have to take a time out and find a shake and bake project like your Japanese build to keep my motivation going.

gdarwin - I really like it, especially the guy looking out the top hatch.

anthony14 - looking really good.  keep it up!

Dave - I think I'll slow down on the hayabusa, I started scribing the boly on the weekend and I actually thought it was kind of fun!Shock [:O]  I want to see some progress on the Boly so this week I'll concentrate on it and hopefully get at least the fuselage done.  It is a long process but it looks good so far

About that extension.  Lets do it.  I don't think I can finish this before christmas so I'll need January to work on it too. escpecially with the BoG starting next week.

Make note: deadine extension to January 31, 2006!

Yeah, no, I partied good last night and got it out of my system.  I am telling you that was the best Grey Cup game or even any football game I've ever watched.  It was good, and I thought the Eskies were done for but pulled it out in overtime.  An amazing game.

Looks really good Anthony14!  My fuselage halves are almost finished rescribing and then I'll be able to work on the interior!  not oo much just a little scratching of the cockpit area nd bombardiers area in the nose and the turret.

Dave I am waiting for some pics!  Looking forward to see the Sunderland.

Looking good Anthony!  Thumbs Up [tup]

Jay, I slapped some paint on the interior last night and was going to take some pics but got distracted.  I will try to take some tonight.

While I'm at it.  Does anyone here know what colour the flight suits for the crew would be?  Been looking around for a reference but haven't found one.  The turret guns are attached directly to the gunners so unless I want to do more scratching I have to include the figures. It will likely hang from the ceiling beside my BV 138 so I kinda want the pilots in there anyway.

gdarwin Nice work on the gun & tractor

Anthony your cockpit looks great, I don't see any problems with the color

Jay  Al's lostSad [:(],  Canadians are doing lousyConfused [%-)] will it never end it sucks to be a Montreal fan these days.  Thanks for the extension  I may just need it.  Work is getting worse as xmas gets closer.  I have'nt had a chance to work on my build in the last 2 weeksSad [:(]

Dave  I saw your coments on the Sunderland, I'm not surprised. I was debating doing the Airfix Halifax for the B of A GB however after a good look the fuselage and the large gaps with the wind screen assy I figured it would be to much work & will probably go with the Hasagawa Lanc what a nice kit It's my Xmas me to me gift so I had a look insideBig Smile [:D].  As for your question about the flight suits  I did see my uncles once (bomber crew) and it was a med brown, mind you with all the wear and tear oil & grease stains it did look darker in some places. I hope this helps

Cheers

WOOHOO Rick put us over 500 posts!Party [party]

Anyway, Marc about the Allouettes losing, GO ESKIES GO (I am originally from the Edmonton area)!  Onthe other hand, I do care about the Habs, after the Oilers they are the next best team!.  Something must be done about their goal tending, Jose Theodore is not very good right now.  You got yourself a Christmas present to yourself?  I think I'll have to try that...Evil [}:)]

Nice present to yourself there too.  Looking forward to building that one.  When?  I haven't a clue as I'm knee deep in GB's well into next year.

Your welcome Dave.  I also have another shot of my uncle with his crew in less bulky flying gear.  I'll scan it tonight and post it if you wish.

Jay  I know Theo is not doing very well right now and the back up does'nt seem to great either.

Took some pics last night to keep Jay happy and prove that I actually have bee doing something.  The first two are of the interior.  The cockpit floor and instrument panel are the only original parts of the kit.  I based the rest on images I saw of the WEM PE set.  Like I said, nothing fancy but it will make it look like there is something in the interior.  I also cut a panel to go over top of the existing i.p. and I intend to drill some holes in it for the instruments.  There is also a support structure for the seats which I intend to scratch.

The side windows all had sink holes and don't sit flush with the fuselage so I've started to file them down and with a buff and a dip in future... presto.  Decent windows.  Okay... it wasn't presto, its lots of work but I think its worth it.

The pilot figures legs were molded together which meant the control sticks were going to be 4 ft in front of them so I cut and pried the legs apart (sounds painful eh?).  I also filed the seats down so they don't looks like big lazy-boy recliners.

I started not one but two other projects last night so things will slow down on the Sunderland for a couple of weeks

Dave Nice work on the windowsThumbs Up [tup] the end result is well worth the effort.  I wish someone would provide us with half decent sitting pilot figures instead of the ones we have now.  They make a decent effort at making a detailed kit (Airfix excludedBig Smile [:D]) and leave us with a blob for a pilot.  Have fun with your other builds.

Cheers
