Stuka, Great work! Bow [bow]

jinithith, I agree with double D. It look too random. If you look at rust, it will settle in the low areas more. That doesnt mean it would rust in flat surfaces though, I can vouge for that! Just tone it done a bit, it looks like there is way too much.

I just got back from chicago. very militaristic city. They have a navy pier, soldier field, etc. but i only saw a few sailors and 1 pt type boat. cool buildings there though

Here it is [as promised] a pic of the fully finished cockpit!

As you can see there has been a lot of detail added, and all it needs now is a good paint job to highlight all the detail and some belts for the chairs.

I'll keep you posted in the progress!!

Aftermarket parts are way out of my budget, especially for such small aircraft so I usually just scratch-build the detail that I want and I don't have to spend my precious money on PE or Resin parts.Big Smile [:D]

PS I've finished my intire cockpit now so I'll post a couple of pics before I start painting it.Big Smile [:D]

finally some progress pics!Big Smile [:D]

this is how I blacked out the back sides of windows. I stuck 'em on a long piece of tape to prevent overspray and then ABed it.

this is how I paint the lifesavers. first is the "rough draft" by going off of the intended painting space. always paint the highest surface first. I panifully figured that out by not painting the white straps first.
here's what it looks like on the model

this is how it looks on the finished lifesaver

and the backside decals

the grey paint is on, and the black waterling part is on too.
all of the decals are on except for the USA flag decal.
I purposely took a brush and brushed paint on some areas for the quick field applied rough look.
next comes the installation of the windows and the weathering.
BTW, the top and bottom aren't joined together yet

whew!Big Smile [:D]

Did you save any water while scratchbuilding that?

Heres a couple of pics of my progress in scratching a new cockpit for Fujimis 1/72 stuka

This shows a cockpit side wall before[top] detailing and after[bottom] detailing , you can see how much detail has been added to the wall.

This is a closer look at the detail. I used a range of different plastics to create the detail including streched sprue and copper wire.
So this is my progress to date and I hope to post more pics as I work on!

Sigh.....

And remember, as they say on the West Coast- save water; shower with a friend! You know, a "friend" not just a friend. As in one of the opposi- oh you get it.

all those tracks are finally done! WOW, that was a lot.... on to the top! and so far no screw ups!!!! YES!!! test fitted the tracks and they're too long! four track links!!! these are the "rubber band" tracks so thatll be a future problem...the deck is kinda warped, for the kits age i was amazed at the few flaws i saw! only 4 sinkholes! and theyre hardly noticable if i didnt fill them! the suspension looks great too! this is gonna look awesome!
today was a real downer, looking at my summer: for AP U.S history i have to read 100 pages in the textbook, and read two books and write book reports on them!!! and 7 more days of school!!!! WOOOOOOO!!!!! (many people now are probably muttering death threats to me) hehehehehe

I feel your pain. My physics teacher is crazy. Not to be racist, but she's this little chinese woman who screeches stuff at us and always gets confused about things. So she is giving us one physics regents due everyday for the next 4 days or so, plus homework.
