And, as I tinker with THIS, I'm reconsidering my paint scheme. I'm thinking I WILL in fact do the NMF - I don't have the right color tail numbers for the camo scheme. Besides, it will give me a chance to practice metal finishes!

I've found the pictures I need and designed what I hope will be a relatively simple to bash together representation of the business end of the Viggen's engine. Waiting for the Evergreen styrene to show up so I can get to work. Funny, I had meant for this one to be a real easy, out of the box sort of thing! Now not only am I scratchbuilding the arse end of the jet engine, I've decided to do the quasi-lozenge camo scheme because at the time it looked less daunting than the kit-suggested metal finish (I'm not sure how on earth I came to that decision...)

Well I've finally cleared off some space on the workbench (by finishing a pair of MiG's I've been working on) and have gotten onto Hasegawa's 1/72 Viggen. I'd intended it to be strictly out of the box, but there is just about NO exhaust at all (just a blank piece of plastic with a hideous seam down the middle). So, either I'm going to have to make a cover to hide it, or fabricate something that vaguely represents a turbine to suggest that there is in fact an engine in there! Off to find some pictures, then!

just thought id drop in to see how everyone is going ,im about half way through my j30 have been really slack with my building.

due to the fact that ive been doing major renovations on my house,i was just about to restart this week when (you have to love this !!!) i had a work accident and snapped the bone in my middle finger on my right hand which sucks when youre right handed so hopefully this will give me time to sort my digital camera out .p.s i hope everyone has a safe and happy christmas

Hi Everyone,
I haven't joined this GB yet, but I have been browsing. I think Blue Peter just made it to my must build list. It will have to be in 2006 though, if I can get the decals. As Gilmund is already going to do this one, I won't do the discourtesy of adding it to the GB list, but thanks for the info on it, what a great scheme.

Well, I'm not a part of the build since this was completed before the build started, but just to give you a little incentive, here's my Heller 1/72. Yes, it's an airbrushed pattern, the masking murdered me.

Hi, I am also interested in building swedish planes. But does someone know a good book about the swedish airforce and their used types? Often they converted the planes for their needs. But I need some pics.
And I didn't know that they looked at an f-18. Which decals do I need for one of them and which version was that. I can get nearly any swedish decals from Germany.

Well, I haven´t done anything (again) with this GB since I´m still srugelling with my stealth builds. But I just boutgh a new kit and some custom made decals for yet another build for this GB - Blå Petter (Blue Peter)

Hey guys, just to prove that I'm not all talk and actually DO plan to build something for this GB, here are the two kits on the newly cleared workbench, in the new den/model room, in the new house:

Here's the new workspace, table on the right is for assembly and the like, to the left (near the window for ventilation) is where the new spraybooth will go. Now I just need to get the tools and supplies set up and I'm off to the races:

That sounds great PoB, I guessed that you would use the Sword kit.

I visited the Swedis Air Force Museum in Linköping the other day and since atleast Gary66 is building a J-26 Mustang, I thought I show some pics I took of the Mustang they got on display there. The aluminum is very shiny, I don´t know if it´s been restored/polished but I suppose it looked more flat when it was in service.

the TP55 Caribou is Hobbycraft 1/72 and the TP81 Goose is from Sword also in 1/72. Going to use BenMik decals for the markings.

Gary66 - Nice to see that you´re getting set up. It´s a nice kit, I started it myself a couple of years ago, but I got stuck on making walls for the wheel bays, so I put it away and ended up buying the Tamiya kit instead, but I haven´t started that one.

Ive got a small update on my build ,my viggen is progressing nicely but i wont be entering my big viggen for my local show as im renovating my house so modelling is taking a backseat at the moment Disapprove [V]

well here is a small up date for you its a single seat f-18 a i wont have enought decals to do the 2 seater f-18. so heres what i have done so far.
cockpit and seat done
upper and lower bodie with the sides and fod covers in place.all put togther and turned out very nice, i think i have found a soultion on how to get a good fit with this kit.
sparrow and sidewinders painted and detailed
all landing gear painted and ready to be put on the main bodie
all gear doors are painted
all tires are ready
canopy painted and ready to be installed
main bodie of f-18 is ready for the paint booth just have to waite after my nasa f-18 drys.
and all the deacl that go one the f-18

i didnt know that they looked at both models of the f-18. now that gives me someting to think about i do belive i have enough decals for the single seat and the double seat f-18.

Sounds great Rob! Are you building a one- or a two-seater for this GB. I know that the Swedihs goverment brought in atleast one of each for the evalutation.

Here´s a pic of a two-seater. I think I have a pic of a one-seater in a book somewhere. I´ll try to find it.

now ive got the parts for my viggen its time to get going again. Im also building a 1/48th scale airfix viggen for a comp with a base in the shape of swedish roundrels should be good if i can get it done in time should post pics mick Propeller [8-]

Is it too late to join this GB?
I have a SMER 1-72 mustang kit coming with some other kits in the next few days,and it has a Swedish version on the box art, I would like to build it for this GB, if it's not too late.
