Daniel, don't forget the immortal "two fifths of five eighths of bugger all" and yes I did clean that up Blush [:I]

John R, if you are still around I would love to know how you masked your armoured car, which looks fantastic by the way.

Tanky, love the phillips head one, that's a real crackup.

On a different note, my 109 is coming along pretty well. I Futured the cockpit and wheel wells the other night so they should be nice and cured by now. Once I've given the cockpit a wash and dull coat, I'll detail paint the instrument panel then seal her up. Then comes the real scary part, painting the green blotches on the wings.

Cheers
Darren

You're all to slow I tells ya......I'm nearly finished my 109E. I'm gonna have to find another kit to build for this GB, this one's gone too fast.

Tanky I will now introduce you to some more sayings:

1. If something is good, it is the dogs bollocks (or the mutts nuts if you like).
But, if something is really good, it is the donkeys bollocks.

2. A measurement unique to the Australian metric system is the poofteenth. It is a very small measurement (about half the size of a bees dick).

3. If one was to "launch a chocolate submarine"........ I'll let you figure that one out......

I hope you can find some use for them in every day life.......

Hmmm, Aussies and Texans seem to do strange things when they get together. Anyway, folloing is a list of funny sayings and stuff I've come a cross during my continuing and (hopefully) not yet concluded stay on this earth.

1. That's a Philip's head screwdriver?! That guy Philip must have had some weird f***ed up head! (That one always makes me crack up.)

2. "I'm hungry."
"I'm thirsty."
"Trade?" (conversation between me and my friend)

3. I'll have a diet Dr. Pepper.
I'm not Dr. pepper.

4.(This one is me when writing an FAQ about my school)

Q. Where is the school located?
A. On Long Island.

Q. Will my child be happy here

Q. How big is the school?
A. Very small. We have only about 400 students.

(I barely managed to delete the offending material before a teacher came about. Not that it was really an insult, more of a sophisticated sattire. See if you can spot it. That's right, one of 'em doesn't have an answer.)

I still don't have my kit on the workbench. It's a race! Which will i finish first? The MiG-29 or the SA-2? If the SA-2, the Bf-109 gets the secondary workbench. If the MiG-29, it gets the primary workbench. (dramatic music) i've been working on this mig for 3 monthst now. But I see the light at the end of the tunnel at last.

Tanky --- that's why they pay me the big bucks to be on here.. oh. I forgot... they don't pay me... oh well.. ... thanks...

BTW: Kremps made your favorite birthday dish for you for tomorrows' school lunch... the old windbag has been on the sauce again and slept right through your birthday again... well through the last 7 months to be exact..

So tomorrow you can gleefully open your lunchbox to Yak's liver pie... ::shrug:: she said it was your favorite, I didnt argue...

Just to give you something other than the usual things & all the cat pix, here is the JMGT RRAC -- resin, lots of issues, I'll probably do an article on it somewhere whern I get brain unfried .... I'm not formally entering your GB, 'cause I started it 18 March & I've got some cleanup & detail work to do later, but anyway should be motivation for the N.A. Build ....

Have fun with your GB ....

Sean, my last trip to Oz was in 1994. At the time I was still working for Ford as an Engineer & had a Month long visit as a consultant to the Aussie Ford guys. I spent most of my time in the Melbourne & Gelong areas. Got to spend some time in Sydney as well, but never got into the Northern Territory. I have been there on two other occasions, but for much shorter visits. Would love to go back some day as a tourist & do some more sight seeing.

Although in your case, I think it's a lost causeSad [:(]Tongue [:P]

Rick, when did you come to Oz last????
Where did ya visit???

Jules your cane toad export thing needs a little review mate, I don't mind em gettiing into NSW (bout time they had a decent gene pool too choose from).
But I draw the line at em coming into the Territory.
And our nastiest local bug would have to be the Big Headed ant.
Great big head, itty bitty body.
Kinda like a NSW supporter, 'cept the ant IS tougher than it looks!!!

On a more serious note, cracked the box open of the 129 tonight.
It's gonna be a real task to get the squiggle down right, aint a whole lot of styrene for a 1/48 kit.
Might be the reason I need to buy a detail airbrush!!!!!Wink [;)]Wink [;)]

Rick & Tom Yeah those Koalas are a little decieving, most of the time they're off they're heads from the gum leaves they eat so normally they are to stoned to move but once they get pissed off with something they can be quite vicious.....I once saw 2 of them fighting over a tree and the little buggers were tearing each other apart...............
And Tom we also have a fire ant problem here, the little red buggers that are about the same size as a grain of rice right, domed nest with no visible openings and all that, The ads are always on TV cause the DPI is trying to eradicate them, apparently they came from Sth America....The nastiest ant here are the Native bull ants, about 2 inches long with a red torso with a black head and abdomen, if you get a bite from one you'll feel it all week[:0]Black Eye [B)]

That's one mean Koala... he has a mean streak THIS wide! |------------------------------------------| ... and teeth like THIS! ::making fangf motions with my fingers to my mouth::

ok enough MP...

I learned Koalas are not necessarily nice people one time at the zoo... the keeper was there and said that they can develop a temper on them when they want to. And thats the mistake people make.. because they look so cute and cuddly they expect their personality to be the same...

Tweets - I imagine yall have things there that can kill you just by looking at you!!! Most of our really dangerous stuff besides alligators and water mocassins around here were imported... kinda like the cane toad... and I imagine much like the folks in Australia, we're not afraid to kill it when we see it either... Nutria (not a real danger just kills other animals by eating thier habitat away... just dont catch a cross one though) were so bad here for awhile you got paid to kill them at the local oil refineries... you see one on the road and you run it over... Then I went to Washington DC and found out a Nutria fur coat sells in the high thousands... and they had a huge cage for one single nutria at the national zoo! Talk about a shock!!! If the nutria down here found out they would all move!!!

Oh yes, I know all about the dangers of Aussie wildlife. On my last trip Down Under, I got nipped by a Koala. The little bugger was sitting on a low limb with a mate further down. I wanted a picture of the two of them closer together, so I reached up & gave him a gentle prod to move him along. That's when he nipped me. Needless to say, I didn't send him any prints of the pic Smile [:)].

Mate, I've gotta win something this year. My other team, the Newcastle Knights are deadset contenders for the wooden spoon. BTW.....NSW-3, QLD-0 is a more realistic scoreline (you know it's true don't you.......).

Tom You think YOU got wildlife issues!!
Spend a few days in the outback mate, then if you survive the 'barking spiders' we'll ship ya up to the tropics so you can observe an 8 metre gecko, THEN we'll send ya down south to have a swim with our 5 metre guppies.
Said it before, and I'll say it again............

oh yeah I know it is waaaaaay off topic but there was a story in the paper today about some Aussie government guy advocating "Cane Toad Golf"... said the best way to get rid of them is to club em to death... I say BRAVO sir!!! Of course the paper here decried animal rights and that no self respecting Aussie should do it etc...

funny thing is the same people crying this are probably the same ones who put them there to begin with... We have our Fire Ants (poisonous in small groups... i.e. 10 or so bites can kill some people, one bit will put a lump on a leg the size of a peanut... then the Nutria rat... about the size of a medium dog with 4 inch teeth... they mow down massive expanses of marsh with no care of the fact they are killing our duck population, they travel in packs and have been known to take down a hunters dog in nothing flat.. the alligator gar... 15 plus prehistoric feet of pure teeth and scales you can shoot em with a .22 and the bullet will bounce off the scales... (a REALLY big fish) then there is the Africanized bee.. (killer bee) small swarms have reached us so far and so far only one fatality and several hospitalized.....

needless to say the animal rights people get out in droves and protest our "dealing with the scourge" ... oh the list goes on from there... it's a realative "Wild Kingdom" where I live, half of it imported to deal with one threat or another... no crocs though... just lots and lots and lots of alligators...

ok.. forget that, I was in a rant... SoapBox [soapbox] just knew a lot of the Aussies were here...
