As with everyone else, I want to thank you for hosting this build.  As I said when I joined, I needed some motivation to get back into it, and this GB definately provided it!  This was a ton of fun and I am glad I got to participate.

Scott I've had that same problem before with both enamels and acrylics.  I don't know why it happens but for me it's usually on thin AM decals.  The thicker Japanese manufactured decals seem to work OK, it's just that they don't look as good.

All, well depending on what hemisphere you are in the build either officially finished yesterday or today.  I just wanted to say thanks a lot to everyone who participated in this GB and made it so much fun .

Don't worry for those still building, just post your updates to this thread as your builds get completed.

I'm going to "tack" on the alternate spinner so at least my build will be "finished" today.  I'm going to see if someone can spare the spinner I need and the yellow spinner decal for a few bucks so I can put them on later so it's "correct".

Agreed, in the future I will ALWAYS airbrush the fuselage band.  Live and learn.

Thanks guys, I appreciate the positive reinforcement. 

The Wildcat is for the Carrier Group Build.  I'm very please with the way (the Wildcat) it's turning out.  I had to do some repair work on the cowling i.e. respray it, so that's why it looks flat while the rest looks gloss.  I'm going to do one more gloss coat to it, then oil wash, then flat coat it.

The FW190 is pretty much at the same stage.  I'm going to put a coat of future on it tonight, oil wash it tomorrow, attach the drop tank and landing gears on Sunday and Flat coat it Sunday Evening or Monday morning.  By the way, I spend almost 4 hours on the decals for that FW.  Was fun, but a bit tedious.  My wife was very patient with me last night, especially since we didn't have the kids last night and we should have been swinging from the chandeliers. 

I'm pretty excited about those two planes as they are the first two model airplanes I've built in 26 years.    And the first two projects I've airbrushed with my double action airbrush.  They aren't perfect, but I've learned an aweful lot and hope it will show on my next coupld of projects. 

Scott the 190 and the Wildcat look cool, they both should look excellent fat coated, btw what build is the Wildcat for it looks really good (not that the 190 doesn't ).

Tanky & Pingy don't sweat it.  When you finish up your builds post your results so we can oogle over them and I'll mark you complete.  Boyd same goes for you, just post some pics when you can.

I'm finishing up my decals on the FW190A8 tonight, hope to gloss coat tomorrow, attach gear and oil wash Saturday and then flat coat Sunday.

Whew, I feel like I'm rushing to finish a term paper!
