Can I join this one too?? With the start day so far away I think I can safely get some of the other GBs out of the way for it. (If my arthritis doesn't act up). When again was that start date??

The kit is undecided at the moment, but will probably be one of the bombers in my stash, B-17F, B-24J, B-25J, B-1B or possibly my 1/72 B-2A.

that's pretty cool looking! I've never built anything Sci-Fi but I love star wars so I was thinking of attempting one of their kits....

the gans looks really cool.....

Hell yeah they do Geoff! I dont know if you are familiar with them, but they are just futuristic war machines and you build them just like normal armor!
Check out this: www.roboterkampf.com Jason Eaton has the skinny on the Maschinen Krieger stuff out there!

Well, its really called at-st all terrain scout transport, they are availible now, but the detail sucks and they are snap tite.
The Maschinen krieger stuff is much cooler and is a real glue together kit and is more "feasible" rendition of an automated walker that can defend and attack. and of course they arent cheap either and there is only to be 3000 made. The gans is the shutoral panzer, they also have a Panzer Aufkalarungs T.W.-47 Krote, now the Mercenary forces have their version of a two legged walker called a Jerry H.A.F.S, if you like scifi and armor you`ll love this stuff too!

Forgot to ask when does this start??

put me down for Monograms B-24J in 1/48. I'll also have a couple of surprise kits for this one also.

Nice badge! Will add shortly.

However, I feel a bit sheepish in the context of the OF index... I think I'm by far the youngest fart around in this GB, then. Way too young to know about anything, but willing to learn.

Cheers

Count me in, but I'd better leave it until closer to the date before nominating what I'll build. If I name it now, I'll probably forget by then anyway.
Cheers

I'm just taking it one GB at a time.

Hey Old Guns,

What does it take to join your group? I'm 43 and I have a stack of started and unfinished
models on my work bench. It's good to hear that I'm not the only one.

Chris, I think you've done it. It will just take a look from Geoff to put you on the list.

Welcome.

I'm still looking and thinking. I've got SOOOO many to choose from, and getting more all the time, unfortunately. Just got my hands on the new Tristar Pz IVD today. What a kit!!!

Well, the good news is that I managed to snag a Churchill off of eBay. The bad news is that I actually snagged 2 of them (Crocodile and Mk VII) as well as an M3 Lee - apparently I have no self control!

Thinking seriously about going all out on this one, with Model Kasten tracks and some Eduard PE additions. All I have to do is win the lottery between now and Nov 1 Big Smile [:D]

Last winter, I started a Hasegawa 1/700 Essex Carrier and recieved
an article on how to modify it for accuracy. I forget the sadistic bugger's
name who wrote the article, but WHOA! He's got me building single
mount 5" gun mounts that are barely 1/8" wide. Naturally I took it further
and I put in a hangar deck. Eeeeediot!!!

I'm having some diffuculty getting my Banana Hands around some of
the photo etched pieces, so I've purchase the Trumpeter 1/350 Essex.
I WILL finish the first one though!!!

Tamiya 1/350 DD-445 Fletcher
Hasegawa 1/700 IJN Shoho
Tamiya 1/700 CA-35 Indianapolis
And a few 1/48 WWll Fighters
Am I one of the token Shipbuilders?

Good luck working in that tiny scale. I have enough difficulties with 1/72 aircraft.

I'm the same actual person who used to be registered as ag918w35, and I'm still the same age, so I'll still be doing the same Churchill, but under this new name. I'd appreciate it if you'd update the front page.

now don't be going and correcting the old people nick, they might get testy and burble out obscenities through their false teeth. or worse, they might get confused and go for a drive in which case we're all done for........

Ah, young blood's good for the group...you just may have to draw some
of that blood now and then. Shy [8)]
