Paul-thanks for asking.  little progress-primed and painted flat white.  next step is to mask off and airbrush the flat black.  the body is a Firebird.  after that, Future & decals and then work on the chasis & engine.  hope to make some progress this weekend & over Thanksgiving.  busy schedule lately.

I must say I'm impressed with your skills with the small scale stuff.  I've had to resort to very strong reading glasses with 1/48th scale aircraft.  I would never have thought it was that small unless I saw the quarter in the corner. Wow!

JoeRugby - Nice StuG.  All it needs now is a wash and the tracks
RSaddlemire - Good work on that ancient avenger
Chaparral - I'm jealous of the gloss coat on that maseratti.  You auto guys make that look so easy.
Bobbaily - Any progress on your funny car.  It looks good is it a Mustang or Camaro?

Here is my hasegawa tiger I Early.  FAIR WARNING: tiger snobs look away now.  This isn't what we are used to seeing.  hehe  Wink [;)]Big Smile [:D]

Despite all that is wrong with it I like it.  Went together very well and in perfect alignment. I'm gonna build it as is.  Will add some panel shading with the airbrush and it should look just fine. The only real drawback is no spare tracks and no cables.  The cables will need to be made though or it really won't look right.

Here are the final photos.  It was a fun build except it looks best when only the fixed portions of the canopy are used.  The plastic canopy parts are so thick that when it is posed with them installed and open it looks strange.  Also when posed closed they do not match up well.

Hi guys! Just checking in to say hello. There's some great work being shown here. Well done! I haven't yet started on the YB-49 and I probably won't for a while. I have a couple of other projects I'm tidying up. At the old age of 36, I just can't build as fast as I used to.Big Smile [:D]

The painting and decaling is done now to the hard part - the canopy.  Here are some of the latest photos.

Okay, the Subaru is in this state: chassis bottom painted, front suspension completed. Hardly started on the rear suspension. I must admit, this kit is very much like the MotoGP kits I've built recently, it all goes together very well thusfar. Using Tamiya's own PE set and the only misfit I've seen thusfar (either platic or PE) was the front brake disk being ever-so-slightly too large and created an edge "outside" the plastic part. But as said, that is very slight and easy to rectify.

Now... how on earth do you post pics in these new forums?

Question [?] Is it too late to join the build #2

If not, then I'd like to be in with a 1/35 Alan (ah-hum) Bison II or more specifically a:

15cm sIG33 Auf Pz.Kfwg. II

Incidently, I'm pretty darn close to twice the minimum age requirement for Le Group.

ciao

Thanks.  The color is Tamiya acrylic FX-4 flat yellow-green.

I have the major assembly done so it is off to the paint shop then dull coat and decal.

Rene - nice start. Looking forward to more.

Joe - looking good for your first armor. Keep it up.

Here is the beginning of the SBD-5. So far the fit is not at all that bad for an ancient kit. I have the pit and the engine finished and now to close it up in the fuselage. The instrumen panel has raised lines for the instruments so I painted it flat black and used a white china marking pencil to highlight the gauges and then used Future to make the glas lenses. The seatbelts are from Eduard.

I have never built any armor at all and figured the Matchbox 1/72 STuG IV would be a good start...so here it is...tracks are being finished up and they should be done in about a week...

I am about 1/3 done with the Aurora Maserati, this is a pretty decent kit. It was a real shocker about how well everything has gone together. On the idea of being old I met some friends before our IPMS meeting last Thursday evening at Bob Evens resteraunt and at 41 was by far the youngest one there. I even was given a balloon by the waitress. Rene'

I actually got started on a project on the first day! Interior has been painted black and the door/hood gaps have been puttied. Hopefully I can get some sanding done Thursday pm and then get the body primed on Friday. This weekend is a U-12 soccer tournment that is 2 hours away, so we are doing a 'week-ender', so progress after that may be slow.

Bob funny you should mention the old Spy vs Spy. My son rented an Xbox game of the said creatures last week and we had a blast (literaly) playing it. Sure brought back some memories.

Anyway, TankerGeoff sorry I didn't take note of this build earlier, must have been napping. You can put me down for an old 1/72 Revell Monogram Ar 234 with the buzz bomb. I think the kit is as old as I am, the decals are a total loss but I have the new set by I think Eagle Cal (memories gone). At least I think I have it... Confused [%-)] I'll take a look when my nap is over.

and cool badge by the way! Cool [8D]

Guess I'll go ahead and commit (or be committed?Tongue [:P]) to a build-1/24th scale Revell/Monogram Spy vs Spy Firebird Funny Car. Think I bought it last year 'cause of many fond memories of reading Mad Magazine as a kid back in the '60's. Trying to decide whether or not to putty in the door & hood outlines that are molded in. Looking at all the reference photos I can, I haven't seen any modern F/C's with said outline, so come Tuesday, it's putty time!
