Almost everything on the FM-2 is completedCool [8D]. The only thing needed is the antenna rigging and the gloss coat. I haven't been able to spray the gloss coat because of the weather outside. I'm not allowed to spray anything inside the house. If the weather does not allow me to spray finish coat anytime soon, I'll apply the gloss with a brush to complete the model.

Everything is finished on my Wildcat except for the final flat coat.  That will be sprayed tomorrow morning, just waiting for the canopy glue to dry.  Smile [:)]

The flatcoat has been sprayed.  Soon as it is good and dried, I'm peeling off the canopy masking, sticking the prop on and glueing on the last couple bits of clear plastic.  Big Smile [:D]

Thanks Rick, I'm going to carefully peel off the masking tonight and glue the windows on the lower hull and the light lenses.  Oh, almost forgot.... I'm going to spray some Tamiya smoke for gun smoke streaks and exhaust streaks.  Smile [:)]

Here are the final pics of my build.  It's a 1/48 Tamiya F4F-4 Wildcat.  As most of you probably already know this is one of Tamiya's best kits.  The fit is excellent, fantastic detail, crisp moldings and no issues that I can think of.  The landing gear can be a little tricky, but as long as you're careful and pay attention to the directions you'll have no problems.

The pictures were taken with my new digital camera so I haven't quite got the hang of all the ins and outs of it in order to get the best close up pictures.  The flash makes it appear shinier than it really is.  In normal light to the naked eye it's all pretty flat.

Thanks Wooverstone8 for hosting this build, I really enjoyed it.  Big Smile [:D]

Fantastic, Scott.  Nice clean build Thumbs Up [tup]  You don't see many Wildcats with drop tanks, and I like the look.

Well, she is finally completed and just in time. Big Smile [:D]

With lightened structure and a more powerful Wright R-1820 radial engine. The FM-2 was quicker, had longer ranged and more maneuverable than its antecedent the F4F. The U.S. Navy FM-2s operated solely from escort carriers. They were used in the Atlantic for anti-submarine work and in the Pacific.

Thanks for the look!
