I'd take my time and paint it. It was a valuable experience for me, and it should be for others too. And I can't see any joy in just putting together a kit without doing anything to it.

And I've been kind of curious myself, are new participants allowed? Haven't seen the GB 'leader' around. Tongue [:P]

Hi, folks

Yesterday Mr. Postman left me a tiny piece of paper, saying, that ... wait for it... wait for it... ok, Bandai High grade 1/144 ZGMF-1017 Mobile Ginn arrived from Hobbylink Japan and is waiting for me at the post office. To make long story short, this will be my first Gundam kit, so probably (most surely, in fact) I wil snap it together as fast as human possible. But hey, we still have time 'til GB ending, so I might be tempted to paint and weather it.

Oh, I forgot to ask, if new participants are still welcomed Blush [:I]

You could do a transparent gold for the joints and get both effects.

But I had some major malfunction in my brain when I did that picture.

The facemask is supposed to be semi-gloss black, along with the torso and the wings (not the Super DRAGOON's), and the black around the knees. Then all the white parts are supposed to be a dark grey, found a paint that should match quite well, a 'Gunship Grey' from Modelmaster. Then I'm going to use a regular gold paint for the frame of it. Don't really care for the lighting-up of the frame, the light isn't very strong anyway, and is pretty much only visible near the joints (a very faint light). And I only want the eyes to glow.

Anyway, we'll see how it turns out when I get the actual model and can picture how it will look on it when finished.

Lucky that the garage has the same temperature as inside the house.

I know what cold can do to paint. The Zeta Gundam I built before the Nu was primed, and when I used the primer, lets put it like this, it was pretty cold, so the pieces almost looked hairy. Wasn't nice to sand it all down.

Anyway.

When I get the Strike Freedom kit I'll be sure to post up some pictures of the contents and scan the manual or something for others to have a look at it.

Not to mention the fact that cold is NOT good for paint! Or fingers and toes for that matter. Smile [:)]

I only pray that my Strike Freedom arrives soon so I can start building. I feel so lonely, almost empty, without a model to build now that I started.

Oh well, got some stuff to do meanwhile. Got a spray booth to put together along with some other stuff, so I can do this stuff inside the house (the basement), not out in the garage. It's a pain in the... now that it's winter. I'm afraid to fall all the time when I carry my stuff outside to paint.

Anyway.

Looking forward to posting here. Wink [;)]

NICE! I'd love to see more photos! I'd also like to see photos of the contents of the Lighting Edition Freedom. I'm thinking of getting that one also.

Thanks frostySmile [:)] I did not want to go overbored on the battle damage on the Sword Strike since it never got to badly damaged in the show. Just little black spots on the white parts is it.

I think your GuAIZ looks great! I really like the coloring on it.

nathaniel can you add in other build for me GAT-X103 Buster Gundam in 1/144? I am going to build it and paint some of it today.

The grey is Tamiya XF-22 RLM Grey with X-1 Black mixed in to make it darker.

nathaniel, I used a airbrush I dont like rattle cans to much. I used Tamiya paint X-2 white X-7 Red and XF-8 blue then the light blue is a mix of X-2 white and XF-8.

Then after that I gave it a gloss coat to protect the acrylic paint since it comes off easy.

Next step is to start the brush painting the grey on the joints and some exposed parts of the leg then paint the eyes, panel line some parts, paint the sword all the way. Then I should be about done. Should have pics up later today.

Did you use an airbrush or a rattle can?

Either way, which paint did you use?

What's your next step?  Any shading?  Panel lines?

Ok Guys.

I got my replacement kit for the GB.

1/100 MS-06K Zaku Cannon.

but I will be doing a variant color scheme from the one on the Box.

FYI, it is one of the old kits that ones that predate the polycap versins.

Got the white and red done on the Strike all thats left is the blue. White did not turn out the way I wanted it to but i'll just battle damage it. It was 33 when I was painting for 43 minutes. edit had a little red over spray but I fixed that now the Strike looks fine.

Think I will be painting the white on my Strike tomorrow also the red on the chest and feet and the light blue on the sword packs then all I will have left is the blue on the chest to paint. Its some thing like 23* here right now.

I hear you on the whole "motivation" part.  I need to paint, but i's freakin' -4* out there right now!  I can't believe how cold it is, and imagine my surprise when I woke up to a good layer of snow on the ground.  Uh, the only time my door is opening is to let the Mrs inside from coming back home from work.  Maybe... Yeah did not take to long to build the Sword Strike about three hours takes longer to sand in putty. I know what you mean about projects piling up I have about seven builds going at once. Thanks for adding me to the list. edit got all the sanding done now heres a pic http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c353/Char-88/IMG_0314.jpg after that was taken I gave it a bath to get the dust off.
