Wow.  You just started and you've already caught up to me.  I've been sitting on my butt instead of working on my kit for about a month.  I'm ready to putty any time now.  Yep.  Umm.  Yeah.

The problem is that I don't see myself getting to it in the next few weeks.  I've got a ton of 1/72 scale figures I need to paint up for a convention, as well as a diorama-rama amount of terrain to build.

I added your kit to the participants list on the first page.

My original plan was to finish 2 kits by the closing date of this group build.  I'm thinking I'll just be finishing the one.  Projects have a way of piling up.

Lets see if it works heres my Sword Strike 1/144 should have more pics later today on it. As for the kit since it is a none grade not much posing but that does not matter to me to much. Needs some putty and sanding fill the gaps. Its going to be a pain to paint.

heres the kit broke down now for puttying http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c353/Char-88/IMG_0305.jpg

I doubt it's the first year. He picked it up at Tokyo Hands so it's whatever the curent crop is. What's the difference? I think it was 9450yen. That's about $80 maybe? He knows absolutly nothing about Gundam kits. Smile [:)] He's into the Aurora Prehistoric Scenes now. I was hope he could pick up some of the Fine Molds Star Wars kits, but no time..

welcome to the group FrogFoot great to have you with us. a few of us were also late starters so come one come all. get your friends on also.

ryanpm: where do you go to get in contact with bandai to get parts???? what part do you need i might have the part or one of my other friends that build chops might have the part or we might be able to chop something together for you that will at least hold till the right part gets there(well at least we might have one that will work, if we haven't already scrapped it)!!!!!!

Zenbuilder: i just remembered i had to scrap my 1/100 nataku to build part of my custom. so i might have the part you need so let me know what part it is.(i may not be able to find the instructions so please also let me know where on the gundam it sits.)

A Mejias: which version of the eva perfect did you get? is it the limited first year edition or other (does it say in the upper right of the bax cover or not) just curious is all, and i hear the rubber is a total pain in the but to get on to the kit. ohh and how much did you spend on it i migh have to ask your brother to go get me one also, even though i already own one. and does he by any chance know if the rumors of a MG EX-S Sentinel DeepStriker unit are true????? i have been told that they are really rare and few times are sold at cons.

as for progress on my kits.............well okay who am i kidding. my apartment's freeking freezing. my heater isn't really doing much and for that matter nor is my space heater. it's snowing outside and i can't really keep my hand steady(unsteady hand + brand new knife and blade(lost the old oneBlack Eye [B)])= NOT GOOD) well okay before it snowed i got to detail a little on the Tallgeese. but not much more than that.

since late entries are accepted anyhow, I think I'd be speaking for everybody when I welcome ya to the GB.

I had hardly started mine at all thanks to the work schedule tiring me out before I even pick up a sidecutter, so I doubt you will be behind at all.  Oh well, looking forward to see the pix.

I'm putting my project on hold.  Bandai isn't responding to my missing parts request. I'll probably  have to find someone with the kit and have them cast the parts.

My GB Progress:
I hope to get some more workspace cleaned up and ready for modeling this week. Then I can start test fitting the 1/100 and 1/144 Turn A Gundams.

My brother could only pick up 2 new kits from Japan for me this last trip. A Master Grade RX-78-2 ver Ka. and a Perfect Grade Evangelion. They didn't have the Pod Ball One Year War version or the Zeta Plus C1 in stock and I forgot to give him a list of Bandai water slide Gundam Decals. I think he's going back in January. Smile [:)]

Check out Amazon.com. I think they still have some 79's cheap and if you get $25 or more you get free shipping. They may even run another Gundam Super Sale like they did for Thanks Giving. Drop them in your cart and check them everyday till the price drops again. The prices are really good as they are though.

I have been considering a few kits, one of the probs is that I am not too fond of the new Gundam Series and prefer the original and OVA ones.
Might go for a Zion design as I quiet like them too.

Honestly need to get down to the LHS to see what they got in stock and what sez "buy and build me".

Said that I am quiet partial to one of the 1/100 "RGM-79" variants though(if available).

Zen_Builder: have you thought about going with the Wing Gundam ver. Kai MG i built one not long  ago and it came out pretty good. just a suggestion. or you might want to try the 1/100 Strike or freedom they are newer kits and slightly more well designed. if you go witht the strike though get ready after a little while of your kit will show some mold problems as i found out with two of my kits. after alittle while they started to look like i had spilt superglue on them. don't really know exacly what causes it but just be ready i am not sure if the Freedom has the same prob but oh well if you are going to paint it you shouldn't run into to much of a problem with that.

Still haven't found a kit to replace the 1/100 Nataku, I can get the 1/144 version but not fond of the scale.

Said that having 2 out of 3 family members down with the Flu hasn't given me much time to look for a decent replacement either. Wink [;)]

Frosty:if your paint isn't going on smoothly try adding airbrush thinner to thin it out and just paint it in thinner layers. that is what i have ended up having to do with my Tallgeese III.

Looking forward to your pics of the model Frosty.  I'm sure you'll get the little snag with the paint taken care of.

That is some amazing work.  Fascinating what some folks can do with modeling programs.  Tell 'em to keep up the good work!

So, what method did you use to do your panel lining?  Did you have a gloss surface when you did the lining?  If not, it could be hard to remove excess lines or anything that gets where you don't want it.

Overall pretty good, but I'm sure you'll keep improving on your skills as time goes by.

Guys.
I will have to change my entry. Got 60% through the Nataku and was pulled short by a miscast piece.

Didn't inspect the kit when I got it only to find that during the assembly of one of the claws a piece is missing about 20% of the part. Looks like the plastic simply stopped running into that section of the mold.

LHS doesn't have another 1/100 kit, so I am stuck looking for a new kit.

As for fixing that part, don't have the time nor energy right now to do it.

losing a piece that is a bummer. i myself have tried but always failed at making temp parts. i always have to go out and get a nother model and just use what i need and have the rest for spare parts for chop jobs. i guess that is why i make so many of them!Question [?] but anyways for the Talgeese III 1/100 i have the blue gloss and everything else flat. would that be a good look or should i go with gloss all over. or should it be just the main suit gloss and the gun flat(except for the blue on the gun? if you have anyother suggestions that would be great! i will post pics of the gun once i finish it which should be soon.

I'm on leave for the next week and a half, so I should get my Daemon completed.  Really all that's left is shading, painting, panel lines and weathering.  After that the major assemblies go on.  I'll get cracking on it after I do what I have to around the house.  At least my car's clean again (finally!)

I really need to get back into this-- I put my kit on hold while I waited for primer to arrive in the mail.  It did.  Now I need to get going again.  I figured out more about the paint scheme I'm going to go with, but I really need to get back to it.  I have a lull in my school work that I may as well take advantage of.  And I don't think I'll have to work late any time soon either (which will be nice for a change).
