Rick, truly stunning job on the Swordfish pit.

Rex
, that S-Boot is looking mighty nice, looking forward to some more pics.

Dave, I said it before, but I'll ssay it again the Sunderland looks brilliant.

Jules, Kremps is on her way round with the restraints!Wink [;)] I'll say no more on the matter.

Still waiting to finish the He 162 before I start on the He 177 for this GB. Ordered the Eduard canopy masks, I'm not a sadist like Tom, as well as the Eduard PE set.

All things being Equal hope to start Easter weekend.

Hmmm i don't know if i should be scared or exitedThumbs Up [tup]

Seriously it will be a huge job and i'm not all that sure whether or not to start straight away or wait and see if CMK release anymore interior sets, a full length interior would be very tempting.....

Rick, WOW that looks great, very nicely doneThumbs Up [tup]Thumbs Up [tup] are you going with the Bismark attacker markingsQuestion [?]

Hey all… I’m Bach… sort of.  Was taking a break and spending some time on the website.   Just read through ALL the pages I missed and some great looking stuff…. Nice detailing Rex and great job on the pit Rick.  All that OOB?  WOW, nice kit.

Not really liking my choice for this GB… old kit that needs a fair amount of work and the decals are… well… a steaming heap.  Having just gone through that with the 1/24 190 for the BoG GB I think I need a little shake and bake I may jump over to the OOB 1st jet GB and come back to this one with a Helldiver… if AM ever sends me the new canopy I have called about twice.  SO I am not ready to relinquish my badge yet.

Bob, Jules, Thanks for the comments, appreciate them.

Jules, Yessir, she'll be decked out for the "Sink the Bismark" mission.

Rick,

Very nice detailing, looks good so far ;-)

What is that black wheeled thing behind the third hole? And what is the role of the two airmen who will sit behind the pilot?

Chris

Chris the wheeled item I believe is the rear gunners ring mount for traversing his Lewis or Vickers gun and the swordfish carried 1 Pilot, 1 Radioman/navigator & 1 Rear Machinegunner for the aircrewBig Smile [:D] TTFN

Hello guys,

The 37mm Flak gun is now complete:

I have painted the ammo clip provided by the PE fret, but I don't know if I should install it. It looks a little "squarish" to me... Here are some closeups, with and without the ammo clip

What do you think guys? Should I keep the ammo or not? Or should I try to improve it (and how)?

WOW Chris that look awesome!

I still haven't done much more on my canso.  I'll be done my Doras tomorrow or maybe tonight so I'll be able to concentrate on the Canso and get some more interior stuff done.  I'll take some pics before I close her up.

Very nice work Chris.  In the pics the ammo clip looks great, but that doesn't convey the 3D effect.  Your call on that.

Boy I don't check the thread for a couple of days and bang, I miss out on so much.

Dave I know it was a while ago but your Sunderland looks simply stunning, great job Thumbs Up [tup]

Rick that cockpit looks gorgeous Thumbs Up [tup], the thing that always scared me away from that kit was the rigging.  Are you going to do yours with or without rigging?

Chris the S-Boat looks fantastic, I really love the detail you've put in there Thumbs Up [tup].  As for the ammo I'd leave it in place personally I think it just adds something to the gun, but it's your call.

Cheers

Thanks Darren.  I plan to at least add the major rigging.  May not go the Full Monty, but we'll see.

Well-- not much progress on this one lately due to lots of things- camping, sickness, family stuff-- but I finally have something worthwhile to post-- I plan on doing this one posed in a dive- with bomb cradle out-- anyone know where I can find clear acrylic rod??

Here she is:

My thanks to Rick for providing the S's I needed for the scheme...

Mike:  She looks very pretty in the Atlantic colours Thumbs Up [tup]  I don't have any idea where to get clear rod but I would think maybe a florist shop might have something like that.

Chris:  The gun looks great and the clip looks fine in the pictures.  From what I can see I would keep them but as others have said its your call.

Looking good Mike.  Nice work on the Dauntless.  Around here, most Craft Stores like Michaels will have clear acrylic rod in various diameters.  Many Hardware Stores also stock it, but usually in too large a diameter for model work.

Mike-the SBD looks good. Looking forward to seeing the finished product.

I'm bogged down on the interior of my Avenger-trying some PE-and not having much fun Black Eye [B)]  Thinking about cutting my losses and going straight OOB.

Mike the Dauntless looks excellent, especially in that color scheme.  It really makes a nice change after seeing almost every SBD in Pacific colors.

Ugh, the wheel wells for the Canso had some nasty ejector pin marks, I've finally fixed them up and made them disappear (I think). Hours of sanding in small tight spots with limited visibility is not conducive to good posture! Now I can paint them and move on.

Jay Thats 1 thing i was greatful of the Eduard detail set for it has detail plates that cover up the worst of the ejector pin marks in the wheel bays. Well I'm sitting here waiting on the Fed Ex guy my order with the Eduard gunsight set is due for delivery today, once they arrive I can add the sights to my Vickers guns then paint and install them TTFN

Chris, after dry fitting and realizing how much you can actually see though the cockpit and nose turret glass, I've decided to do just a bare minimum extra detailing in that area.  As for the blisters, I am going to scratch some better gun posts and add some amo boxes on the wall and the round biffy.  I'm also going to add some scratch detail to the .30 cal blister guns too.  I'm getting itchy to finish up the interior and close it up but I need to paint the nose turret first.  I started to mask the clear bits today.Tongue [:P]
