This is the only GB that I have any progress to report.  I'm at the painting stage, actualy this weekend I'll be removing the mask's (with fingers crossed) and see if I screwed up or if it turns up ok (painting is the one skill I need to realy work on).  the weather here is going to be seriously yukky this weekend so  if all goes well with the removal of the mask  I'll paint the yellow leading edge and assemble the gears and work on the canopy.  Sorry no pics for a bit one of the boys borrowed our camera and I probably won't see it for a week or so (I hope).  I hope you all have a great modeling weekend.

GO OILERS GO

Cheers

Darren, I did find a few.  If you lose the one from Geoff, I'd be happy  to send you one.  Maybe 2 just to be sure Big Smile [:D].

I have absolutely no idea Rick, I have no memory of actually taking it of the sprue at all and from the looks of the sprue itself it appears to have been torn or broken off rather than cut (all those episodes of CSI coming in handy Wink [;)]).  Anyway it's gone.

Geoff (gedenke) over on the P-47 GB has a spare seat that he has offered to send me but thanks very much for looking Rick.

Joe, my good lady wife air mailed off your reference CD last Monday so it shouldn't be too far away.

All I am painting up my Tamiya 1/48 P-47 Bubbletop at the moment and I' struck a little snag, I seem to have somehow lost the pilot’s seat from the sprue.  So does anyone have a spare seat for a Tamiya P-47 that they no longer need that they'd be willing to send to me?  I'd be more than happy to pay for postage and would be extremely grateful, otherwise it looks like an order to Ultracast coming up.

Okay, some progress on the Spitfire, I got the side wall bits in the cp glued on, now I just have to finish painting them.  I also painted the red-brown colour of the bakelite(?) seat.  I'll have to add another coat to it but it was a custom mix!  Hopefully I can get more on the cp done soon.

Geez Chris I think the postal gods are out to get you on this one are you going to try again?

Progress wise for me things been pretty quite for a while as I have been recovering from illness.  You would think that a week off work would just be solid bench time but it's turned out I just haven't had the energy.  The one thing I did do yesterday was clear coat the cockpit in preparation for a wash.

Cheers.

Connor, great job on the Mustang. Look forward to seeing more from you.

Jay, well you know I said about building either a Morane Saulnier N type or Pierre Clostermanns Tempest.......

......complete volte face, decided to have ago at the Eduard 1/48  Nieuport  Escadrille 3 double pack.

This includes Guynemer's Nieuport 11 and  another aces 17, Dorma, I tink it was.

I'll pick these up in a couple of weeks, once I've completed the He 177 for the Battle of the Atlantic GB.

Ok, after painstakingly doing all my research, studying the instructions, examining and re-examining my resin cockpit, I'm ready to take the plunge.  Work will be commencing at once on my 1/32 Trumpeter P-40B and CE cockpit.  Propeller [8-]

Osher glad to here that your new place will have lots of room for modeling and I don't think it makes a huge difference when you start as this build goes all the way through to Sept.

Progress:  I managed some decent progress on the weekend with shaving off the detail that's not required when using the Eduard set and completing the base coat of paint on the cockpit.  I have also Futured the wheel wells in preparation for a wash with some artist’s oils.

Even though this Tamiya is easy to build normally it's even easier when you are doing your second.  You know where all the little bits and pieces are supposed to go, so you don't strike that problem of assembling something and then realising you haven't painted some tiny but very visible piece.

---edit---

Trmn8tor I just realised that I missed commenting on your build.  Awesome job Connor Thumbs Up [tup]Thumbs Up [tup], I just wish I could have been building as well as you when I was your age.  I'll look forward to seeing some more of your work in future Group Builds.

Cheers

Hey Guys!

I am finished!  Dad helped me with the small parts and the decals, I did everything else.  Dad made me the display base.  Dad is going to keep this in his office.  I had alot of fun doing this and want to do another.  Thanks for looking and a special thank you to Jay for letting me in!

PS  My cousin plays hockey, but not as a professional.  He's just a kid.

Sport, eh?  I love Formula One, and I'll be supporting Jenson Button to win in today's San Marino GP from Imola.

However, on topic, I'm not going to be able to commence work on my model until June.  I'm moving house, and fallen behind my existing build schedule.  The move should be in mid-May, but until I clear a few existing models, I reckon it could be mid-June before I start.  Still, the new place will have a dedicated den, for models, etc.  Could be good!

Well since everyone else is off topic, and since the Vancouver Canucks didn't make the playoffs I'll have to jump in with Go Flames! Flames and the Habs in the final! Oh ya!

Ooooo I forgot you're from the Detroit area.  No matter, just like in the glory days of the Oil, they will prevail over the RedWings.  'Tis a new season you know and regular season records go out the window!

Actually I'm just glad the Oil are in the playoffs and even if they do lose to Detroit, I'll enjoy each game!
