Ok here are the pics, there not the best quality, but my camera struggles with the small scales. The decals on the back are there there just not visible. The base is half the clear plastic box to a pack of cards that doesn't fit on the cards, and the mud is PVA and pastels. It was an enjoyable build.

great build and a good paint job.

but i thought the elefant was a anti tank, so the gun should be horizontal, or is it just to show the detail?

keep it up

Nice work! It's great to saee that you fixed it instead of chucking it out.

I got a bit started on my Trumpeter 1/72 scale Sturer Emil for this awhile back. I finally got pics taken of some of my work to date. Here is where I am so far:

I'll post more when I get further along. Thanks for looking.

That's cool Will. I have gotten my Sturer Emil started and will probably crack open my Hummel now too to get started on it. Pics up later.

Duke,

Keep us all up to date on the Hummel.  I have a Hummel (late version) from Dragon that is due after my current Jpz IV project.

I will. Thanks. I have the wheels done so far, but there isn't much else I've done so it ain't worth taking pics yet. I should have more done later. Meanwhile, here's where I am so far with my Trumpeter 1/72 scale Sturer Emil I started:

Duke,

Looks really good.

To all:

Are all small scale Trumpeter kits this detailed?  Wow.

So far Grant, yes they are. I've built about five Trumpeter kits so far, three of which are joint ventures with Pitroad: The three modern Japanese tanks and the Swedish S-tank. All of them had great detail and went together fairly well. I only had issues with the turret of the Type 61 being molded so thin it was almost Vacu-formed, and the tracks for the Type 61 and Type 74 were all too long or too short. The Swedish tank had no problems except for several really small pieces that broke when I tried to remove them from the sprue, or got lost very easily. I still have the Trumpeter AS-90 to build too.

I made a concerted start on a Dragon StuG IV (Late) last night. I'm still waiting on some PE for the Ostwind to arrive, you see.

This should be a quick build.

Progress:

The superstructure isn't yet glued to the hull, and neither is the roof glued to the superstructure. The fit is exceptional, and the moulding detail is quite good, too.

Brews,

Nice work.  I enjoyed my Stug IV kit.  I wouldn't even bother gluing the upper hull to the lower hull or the roof to the upper hull until you are starting to weather.  Things on these go together that well.

Grant

P.S.  I look forward to seeing your Ostwind.

Brews, looking great! This brings back memories of when I built mine. Keep up the great work. I should have more pics soon of some of my progress.

Nothing's happening this weekend. I'm in Perth until tomorrow night, then flying back to Auckland. I'll havea  busy few days, then flying to Vancouver for a week, then onto London for 2.5 weeks. I might drop in on some friends in Lansing on the way, though.

I swear I wasn't looking for an LMS here in Perth, but in fact last night, when I went out for a bite to eat, I came across this shop:

which I went into today to check out their stock levels. I have to say, it's well-stocked. However, I left it just as well-stocked as I walked in, due to the fact that I'm going to Scale Model World in a few week's time!

Now that I've got a bit more done on this, I want to post these quick pics of some of my proigress on this Emil. There ain't much done, but at least you'll be able to see what this baby will be looking like!

Here is the main parts/assemblies of the 1/72 scale Trumpeter Sturer Emil all test-fit together so you can see what it's gonna look like:

I have to paint all the interior parts that go on the inner walls of the fighting compartment and then paint the exterior before I can glue this all together. Once that is done, it is on to finishing!

I hope you guys like it. Comments are welcome!

I don't think that anything much would be safe in front of that thing when it was angy. All of them were destroyed or captured though, weren't they?

You are right. Nothing was really safe in front of that. One had sixteen kills before it was finally subdued. The other of the two was captured at an evaluation camp where it was being used to train another crew.

Got some paint on it, I just have to get the interior detailed and installed now.

Hey is anyone still watching this?

I got a some pics of my 1/72 scale Trumpeter Sturer Emil here to show off. Here is a shot of the gun carriage assembly mounted in the main hull:

There's still a bit of touch up I need to do in there, but it's coming along again.

These next two shots are of my interior, first one side then the other:

And here are a couple of pics of this model showing each side with the fighting compartment walls test-fit in place:

I hope you like it. Comments are welcome.

Wish I could say that I was building somethig right now Duke but my work bench got torn up a couple of months ago while our house is undergoing some renovations.  I was able to work at a temporary table in the garage for awhile but I am currently benchless and having to work at the kitchen table.  Needless to say not much is happening.  Hopefully things will get back to normal in a couple of weeks.

Man Dave, I'm sorry to hear that. At least you are getting some renovations done, that is good. Hopefully things will go fast so you can get back to building.

I've completed the assembly on my Emil. Now all I have to do is the decals and then weather it. I'll post pics when I'm done.

The StuG III is finished bar the matt varnish.

I'm pretty happy with it.

Pics to follow.

The StuG III started out OOB, and is essentially OOB except that the antennae were damaged in a plane trip, so I made some bogus new ones. I posted this also in the Airfix GB (I forgot where I was talking about it). If you want, I can delete this post.

Anyway, here's the build-up.

and, painted, decalled and on a Matchbox Comet base:
