Hey razor that would be awesome if you could work on a badge.
I'm going to go get some kits but the only hobby shop that carries 1/72 armor is 3 hours away from my house. Has anyone done a Dragon Kit in 1/72 scale? Is it harderthan a Revell Germany 1/72? |

I have done several in Dragon kits in 1/72 scale. They have excellent
fit and fantastic detail. Check the box top, if it has a small diamond
on the right side of the box art that says, "Die Cast Parts Included",
leave it on the shelf. Look for their "Armor Pro" series; they are the
best and have no Die Cast parts, but they do include P/E as an option.
Dragon has a new track that is one piece, molded in their new D100
plastic that takes standard model glue perfectly. There is no need to
use CA glue on their new plastic tracks. Their decal sheets are very
complete, and even give multiple options for different vehicles; some
cases they have a sheet of numbers so you can choose your own.
If there are any issues that I have with Dragon it is that they
occasionally mold some very fine and delicate pieces that are
impossible to remove from the sprues without breaking. (Although
someone suggested heating the blade a little to make cutting more
smooth; I have yet to try that though) Also, they do tend to use a lot
more parts than other companies do to make some assemblies. For
iinstance, the Dragon 1/72 scale Hornisse and Nashorn I built both had
more than 30 parts in the gun carriage assembly; not including the gun.
That was a tough build! In that respect, it is a bit harder than
Revell/German, but otherwise, they go together as easily as
Revell/Germany due to their excellent parts fit.
I hope that helps answer your question.
Oh, and my Jagdpanzer IV is fully assembled, and the camo pattern is
already partially completed. Once I get that done, I'll post some pics
for everyone to see.
