Frogfoot, you're in, and gedenke, you're in too. I am perfectly fine with japanese a/c. It'll be nice to have some variety.

Current Builds: If I were to list everything I have in progress, it'd take way too long! Some notable inclusions:

Hasegawa 1:48 KI-84

Tamiya 1:48 P-51D (in Iwo Jima long-range escort markings)

4 (yes, four) Tamiya 1:48 F4U-1s (1x -1D, 1x -1A, and 2x -1s)

Hey everybody! I've decided I might need a little more time for this one (and I'm sure some of you will, too), so I think I'll extent the ending date a little, to maybe say, December '06 or Jan.-Feb '07? If you disagree, feel free to say so.

Hey Jaypack, i was wondering if I could join? This would be my first GB and this one just caught my attention. If so, i was thinking about building an Acurate Miniatures SBD-3 Dauntless or a TBF-1C/TBM-1C Avenger if thats ok? it sounds like alot of fun,

Hey Jaypack, see what you think. I've got three models basically constructed, but stored in various boxes and long overdue for repair, paint, and finishing details.  If that's not too far along for "already started", please put me on the list.

Oh yes, the models are:

   1.  Hasegawa 1/72 F6F-5

   2.  Hasegawa 1/72 F4U-1D

   3.  Kitbashed 1/72 FM-2  (Academy and Airfix)

I plan to finish them in late war escort carrier markings, for different CVE's.  This GB is the perfect reason to dig them out.

Regards, Dick

Nope, they're not too far along for me! I think that even if they just don't have an antenna wire, they could still be entered. I'll put for them.

OK, I'm going to add Hasegawa's KI-61 with the aries cockpit set to this GB. I just won it on Ebay, and it should be getting here around the time the GB starts. If anyone has information on this kit (fit, detail, etc) or the aries parts (It's my first time using anything by them), feel free to share it...

Jaypack,

Don't forget to add The 1:48 Corsair I'll do as well to the head thread. I think it's the Tamiya F4U-1D (just to be differentSmile,Wink, & Grin [swg])

Thanks,

Are you sure that's the 1:32 kit? I've built the 1:48 kit and that's what the box looks like...

BTW, here's some pics of my F4U in progress:

the modified bomb and pylon

The model overall

A shot of the 'pit:

The engine:

Hope you like it, I haven't decided what aircraft to model yet.

Any Q's orcomments would be appreciated

Thanks for looking!

If not to late, I would like to join in with a 1:48 Hasegawa P-40E Warhawk.
Paint and markings will be from the 49th Fighter Group.

Hey all,
I know the build hasn't even started but I did finish one of the two planes I will do for this GB. This was an AM 1:48 kit. It was a great kit with very good details and fit. I'm really starting to like their kits more and more. The last pic is a simple presentation I made  from the idea of FSM member  "jamalone". Enjoy!

Very nice.  I just love those American WWII Pacific carrier warbirds.

I have an 1/48 Academy F4U-1D sitting on my bench thats about 1% complete.  Just finished an AM Avenger and a Classic Airframes Re. 2001 and was hoping to take a break from the aircraft for a while.  But maybe I can do this alongside my other project.  Can I get in?

Well, ended up closing up the fuselage today afterall. I can't say I care much for the way this kit is going together. As others have said, these inserts are a pain in arse.
