Ok Eric, I was wondering about those fenders Big Smile [:D] I'll have to see what I can find for chain. I bet some of the 35th small tow chains might be about right for air filter covers on the Tigers huh? Tongue [:P]

Kumakichi, C/A or maybe epoxy is suitable for glueing the p/e parts to each other or the kit. Some people solder the p/e to itself but I'm not even going there on mine. I'll be using c/a.

Erock :

You missed a step Erock : Page 39 , Step L ( lower right ) , A4 parts . There are your chains !

You want to use real chain , take those in to match them at a junk-jewelry store , or the local hobby shop for static boat/train chain .

There is some more on the smoke launchers for the turret sides , so make sure you get enough .

Hey WW,

Thanks,

The way they have the instructions layed out, it has you jumping all over the place. You would think they'd give you some chain length.

WhiteWolf,
just wanted to tell you that i enabled email from members and i tried to message & mail you yesterday.
drop me a mail if you are still thinking abt the greatmodels stuff.

Erock - what kind of digital camera are you using?
the sharpness of your pic is excellent!
the ones i borrow from work will not shoot detail for anything.
(which may not be such a bad thing, since my work does not need close scrutiny!!)

Hey all,

Well I finally got my pictures posted to to Erock! Or so I thought... They came back saying his mail box was over quota.
Most likely due to those huge files. Okay, I have them here on the hard drive, can someone please help me get them
where they need to be?

I stumbled across that, and many other great quotes while I was an active member of Uncle Sam's Misguided Children, USMC. I couldn't tell you for sure whether it was from a book or not, but I speculate that it was.

But hey, I do have some good news. I got my parts from Dirk yesterday and my Zagi 400 motors! I'm curious as to what type of batteries you guys are going to opt for in your tanks. A lot of the guys in the tank club here in my area say that they use 2400 to 3000 mah Nickle Metal Hydride (NIMH) batteries. These can cost anywhere from $22 to $100 each. The guy at Laurel Hobbyworks stated that the 3000 mah ones were better since the 2400s provide a little extra "jump" in the beginning. Something not necessary or desired in a tank. Dave4what has some 2400s for sale.

Okay good news. I got the pictures downsized. I sent them to Moses and Erock. (Unfortunately Erock's mail box is full to the brim with my earlier transmission!) Would anyone else like to see them?

Roy,

I am work right now but, I did check my email (wow some big emails you sent) Tongue [:P]

I adjusted the inbox for my email and gave it more space. If you want, you can now send the resized pics and I promise I will get them on your page first thing in the morning! I saw 2 files, each 2mb and a bunch of bounced messages. I deleted the bounced ones and kept the bigger emails.

William,

I just bought this digi-cam about 3 months ago. It's a Kodak 3.1 Megapixel (not sure of the model because I'm at work) I love the thing, works much better than my old one. I think I paid about $279 for it.

Sorry about bloating your inbox. I got them resized though, so here goes... I also sent them to Moses.
Heads up! Go ahead and delete all the ones I previously sent you. I'm sending all downsized ones.

Oh thank God... That was a serious pain. I also sent you some comments to go with the pics. Although I realize everyone just wants to see the pics! Thank you again Eric. Hopefully next time will be easier.

Great job Okie. Its looking really good.

I have a question about the Zagi 400's. Did you order both the same or was one reversed? I think WW mentioned something about reverse before.

Also did you have to buy a little gear puller?

Erock & Okieboy - Looking good guys, it's great to see the different approaches you guys are taking.

Erush & J-Hulk - You boys are going to have some catching up to do, but havung seen both of your works in progress I know you will do this project justice.
Happy Modelling and God Bless Robert

Yea I think its great that Okie chose to modify his to the mid. Really nice job so far.

I'd love to do a late steel wheeled version but I read up a little on it and it sounds like a lot of work and a lot more money. I don't know why but the steel wheeled versions have always been my favorite. Smile [:)]

Keep the great pictures comin fella's! [:Big Smile [:D]

Thank you all very much. I was kinda worried that it would suck, and even more so that ya'll would be
too say so! Remember, I'm not a pro like Moses or so many others like him. But I am very pleased that
you guys like the photos. Tomorrow I will finish the turret with the new ventilator fan and periscope shield. As for the Zagi 400s, I got them both in the same direction of movement. Why? Check out the gearboxes and you will see that they are configured different just to accomodate that. There is no need to buy one normal and one in reverse. And even if you did buy one and need to reverse the direction of
movement, all you would have to do is reverse the wiring when you soldered them on. I did order a gear puller from Tamiya ($11). I could have simply used a pair of vice grips and a nail punch, but I didn't want to chance it. Hey, check out my post about the Battle of the Bulge being on tonight. I've got my VCR set!
J-Hulk, where are you at bro? Thanks again for those hangers. I couldn't have done that without your help.

oh ok... I didn't know that about the motors. The zagi's don't seem expensive at all so that sounds like a good buy. And that gear puller sounds good too Smile [:)]

Roy,

One word for you BALLS!!!!!! It looks great so far, but man you really have to have some balls to start cutting up that $200 + kit!! I admire that, I’m not sure I could bring myself to do it. You have done a great job from what I see, keep up the good work.

Progress report:

I hooked up the 2 DMD control units, RC antenna, and speaker units for the test. WOW [:0]

This beast is loud and proud. I'm surprised at how deep the bass is on the speaker.

The Tiger now has bite:

Brian...I'm disappointed. That doesn't at all look like a King Tiger with Hessler in it. It doesn't even look a little bit like Robert Shaw!! At least the tanks close to a real King Tiger, though!! LOLOLOL
