Well it was just a thought.. I used to build alot of Airliners, so i will see what I have in the way of lettering.. We will come up with something I am sure!..

I am sorry if any of you take this the wrong way. Or you feel that I am in a grumpy tonight..

But Capt.. if you dont have the ability to participate in a group build (ie: pictures, reference material, guidance, and plain old advice).. Then why in blazes did you start this build in the first place..

If anybody, you should be the one showing the example of what is expected, and not come in when you feel like it and just take over when you feel it is needed, or when you can get to a computer...

I have participated in many group builds, and I must say that I have held my tongue, purely because I am a common aircraft modeler with a soft spot for Star Trek.. But, if you want it to succeed, you nee to get people involved and excited!

chris, many people see the thread, and imho, it's their choice to participate or not! if they dont like the idea, im not going to convince them otherwise.. why? cause im allready too busy as is!! i dont have time enough for my own projects (i have more things to do besides moddeling) and i dont have the time for recruiting others. Besides, i feel like the people who love to build ST will participate without having to ask them..

As for starting the GB, i didn't know the starter should come up with advice/reference material, etc.

The reason i started it, is pretty simple: check the SCIFI section, and you will see a thread i started, where i asked if there would be any interest. and there was (is)

I do admit i should post more pics, and i will in the future! but hey now, its not like i  never posted any at all..

 and about you being a ... uhm, "black hole"  nope, dont agree there.. matter of fact, i appreciate people who speak their hearts!! takes a lot more to step on my toes buddy!! :)

At least you have a camera!  The guy who took some pics of my build ups is going to have to contact his wife again about the USB cable as she didn't send it in the package he just got today.  Bummer...

 Cleaned up a bit more on the Andor tonight.  It's going to need a lot of wet-sanding to removed a lot of hull detail that doesn't look that great to me.  Then will come some puttying and more wet sanding.

The Federation-class DN is completely cleaned up and nacelles are assembled and puttied.  Will try and get the nacelle seams cleaned up before I leave work tonight.  

The PNT Models Avenger-class FH needs a minor bit more of putty and then I can assemble it.  I'm thinking I might name this one Terrell in honor of Capt. Terrell of the U.S.S. Reliant from ST:II.

 I've also got a Cozmo Heavy Industries Constellation-class I'm going to assemble while I'm here, too.   Might name this one Stewart. 

Here's a short update for my build: I made a mistake assembling the engine nacelles, I should have put on the small clear part before glueing the halves together!

I already have corrected my mistake and have started with cleaning all the seams. I'm find that the fit of this kit is mediocre, maybe this is because I am not used to handeling such large parts (they flex a lot)

I'll post some pictures this weekend, hopefully of a fully assembled "Crosby" (that's the name I chose)

Don't worry about it, Cpt. Sponder.  I think you've done just fine up to now.  You can't help it if folks choose not to participate or there are a lot of folks who aren't interested in the subject. As to not being able to work on your model that much, don't sweat that, either.  It's a hobby and they call it such for a reason, after all.  You do it when you can and to relax. 

One thing that seems apparent after reading thru a few other GB threads, tho - the person who came up with the idea seems to be the one who, more often than not, is in charge.  So, you started it, you're stuck w/it!  You can't back out on us now!   

Remco.. We have all made that kind of mistake, so dont sweat it.. I havnt built a Voyager, but heard that its a bit of a bear.. Look forward to seeing how you get on..

I had a very busy weekend because of Sinterklaas, a Dutch holliday where you buy lots of presents and make poems for the people you give th presents to (cpt. Sponder wil know what I mean)

He didn't mentioned it? It's a big event, the arival of Sinterklaas is a live TV event, the stores are flooded with Sinterklaas and Zwarte Piet (black Pete, his helper) and traditional cookies and candy. As always, the Wiki has info on it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saint_Nicholas

 I did get some nice gifts and poems but no models...

Yeah, he never mentioned it at all.. he is actually English, and his wife is also Japanese, and he met his wife in Holland while he was still living there..
