hi guys, I have just returned from a two week vacation. Glad to see that there is progress beeing made in the GB!

The status of my intrepid is the same as before, it needs another coat of grey and then I can move on to next steps in the building proces.

Well, here's one more on my progress on the D & 1701

Looks like I'm on semi-permanent "hold" 'til I get back to The World.  Things have been too busy here the last couple of weeks for me to do more than open the box, look in and then close the box as someone else comes in to order another part....

So, I should be able to make a LOT of headway in a bit over one month. 

OK I PMed Remco and I should have just posted it here......

A friend asked me to build him the Enterprise D from TNG with Lights. Does anyone have any info on how about I do something like that ?

Antoher update, I have put on the last coat of light grey. Maybe a bit to heavy, the preshading has (almost) disapeared. I have taken some pics, I will post them shortly.

Next up, painting the details, I will just brush these, since these are small surfaces.

Bud, go over to SSM and look for a guy called F91.. He should be able to point you in the right direction.. They all did a lighting course in Seattle at thier club I believe. He may be able to help out.. I would normally give you his email, but might be better if you approach him yourself.. Just tell him I sent you.. He really is a great fella..

Still workin on my Ent. D have finally gotten the Micro mask off & contemplating the next grey to put in the saucer right now. Base is foiled & looks ok to me sofar will have to post some pics soon

  I know this is a federatin build but since the Klingons and Federation are Allies... Could I through in a Klingon Battle Cruiser " Vor'cha" into the grp build since it is the only Star Trek model I have in the works? If not I will have to buy another kit (sigh have to deal with the Boss err wife ).

Mate. I guess if you build something in the time frame of Klingons being part of the Federation, then I guess there shouldnt be any problem?.. If its pre-Klingon-Federation, then we will just call it a classic and put Federation licence plates on it

OK here are some pics of my progress, the last coat of grey paint is on.

As you can see the effect of the pre shading is minimal, maybe I have put on the last coat a bit to heavy.

 I have started to paint in the details by hand.

I had a minor setback whilst doing this, I dropped the paint tin! There was paint on the floor, paint on my desk, paint on my chair and paint on my pants! And just about ALL the paint in the tin was gone (it's amazing how much paint they put in one small Humbrol tin when you spill it all in once) 

Sorry to hear about your setback.  I'll try and get by the 'Net Cafe to see the pics when I get off work later this morning.

Well, in the strictest sense the Klingons are only Allies, not members of the Federation, so going by that, I'd say no.  However, CptSponder started this GB so I'd say it's up to him to give final arbitration. 

Maybe you could put a United Federation of Planets flag on it, give it some StarFleet livery and call it a captured ship from that short period when the Klingons and UFP were at war...?

Correct me if I am wrong but, in Star Trek 3 or 4, Capt. James T. Kirk commendeered a Kingon Bird of Prey and was used to bring the whales back to the future. Would that be acceptible? A captured Bird of Prey? just a thought.

Well, it's still titled the Star Trek federation tribute build, thus my suggestion about a FEDERATION ship, not a KLINGON.  Kinda goes against the spirit of the why the GB was started if it doesn't meet that theme, doncha think?
