I'm moving in June as well and I'm waiting.  It's a lot easier to move a kit in a box vs. a kit that's built.

Building Now:

1/48 Academy Bf-109G6 - 100%

1/48 Tamiya F4U-1A - 5%

Hello all I'm back home for a little bit now. I am done with this field rotation, the big field rotation is coming in a few months... if you know what I mean. I have spent the last few days catching up on lost time with my girls, and trying to wash that stinky smell you aquire in the field out of my stuff. After coloring easter eggs with my daughter my wife said I could work at the bench today, so hopefully I will have some pictures tonight. Too many projects not enough time. HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!    JOSH

The smell never leaves any of us, nor does the soldier in any of us. I am gonna go play in the sandbox soon...... that kinda smell doesn't wash off. Below is a picture of the reason why nothing got done on the 162 this weekend. She loves Baron Von Richtofen.............Cheers fellas, everyday is a gift. JOSHP4050003.jpg

The Fokker was my afternoon project yesterday, not quite finished yet.....close though. I have to add bellcranks, flying wires, outboard struts, paint the coaming and tires........and then above the crib it goes. G loves this thing!   JOSH

Hey HOOK DRIVER,

Cute kid...  She sure looks like a heartbreaker - does she have you as wrapped around her little finger as my daughter (almost 2) has with me?

Good luck to you when you head over to the ol' sandbox.  Any idea where you'll be based out of?

Wow, sure is quiet over on this side of town.  No posts in two days Shock [:O].  What is everyone up to?  I noticed that Wing-nut was over in the armor forum, getting everyone all riled up over there.  I guess when you crank out your build in such rapid fashion, you have the luxury of doing that Tongue [:P].

I, for my part, have an announcment: despite the arrival of the new baby, despite the demands of daily life in the work-a-day world, despite all other distraction, I have actually begun work on the Stormovik...

"Please, please, don't panic, no reason - wait, just remain calm... Return to your homes, nothing to see here....  Had this been a real emergency...  The president and vice president have been moved to a secure location..."  Cowboy [C):-)]

Anyways, I haven't gotten a lot done - just a little prep painting and some construction of the cockpit, but hey, a little is better than none.  Hope to have some pics up soon.

Kenny, I guess you can take me out of the running for the turtle award Sad [:(]

So I will be ready for the next vote for 2008. I am making progress on my F-106 For another GB and the end is in sight.I have glued the upper and lower fuselage together and just finished filling all the seams. (gotta love Revellogram kits, I know putty vendors do) I couldn't get my missles white enough so I used oil paint for the white. Does anyone have an idea how long it will take to dry? I've broken the missle bay holders off so I may be in a tight spot getting them back on. It should be complete by May Then............ The FireBall . Everyone is doing great work on there kits. Boyd.... Great job on the AccurateMiniture Human VERY good looking and animated to boot.  Kenny, good luck with the move, but you should definately try to complete you build before the date (pulls head into shell), I know everyone else would.

Well, I have gotten the B-25G to this stage.  It is built OOB, with only the "Little Joe" decal coming from the decal box.  I am not sure what I want to do with the tail gunner's end.  I know I need some more clean-up on the windows, but what about the tail area where the guns come out?  Ideas anyone?  After I get some of the other group builds out of the way, I may go after the 'runner up' as voted by the voters; 1:72 Hasegawa Mig-29 'German Special'

Well, I don't have anything to report on my Stormovik, but I did want to share a build with you guys that I am particularly proud of.  This is one of those builds that just seems to go flawlessly.  When I started it, I figured it should take about 40 weeks, start to finish, based on my experience with this type of thing.  And, don't you know, on the 40th week to the day, BAM, it was done.  It's a heavy sucker too - 9 lbs 3 ozs...  Gotta rig up a special display case for it or something.  I think my only concern is the paint job.  I'm just not certain I am satisfied with the weathering.  It looks better in the second photo, but that one highlights the position problems I'm facing - what story am I trying to tell...?  It seems very confusing to me, but still, I am very pleased with how it all came out.  I'd be interested in all of your comments.

I am very impressed with the hair that you were able to get on the front of the head.  Looks like you have a might fine addition to your collection!  Congrats to you and your family.  You might want to make sure you put enough air holes into the display case though!

No, I have the glass tail cone for the guns to stick out of.  But all of my research shows that the end was usually a 'canvas bag' type of design for the tail guns.  This allowed the tail gunner to have greater use of his guns.  My question is to all; "How do I go about modeling the canvas since all I was supplied was a glass peice?  I want to try to model it has my research has shown." Confused [%-)]

Thanks for the photo.  It is much like my other sources as well.  My question is, "How do I model that?"

I'll agree with Kenny  -White Glue, Water and tissue paper. I use it for canvas gun mantle covers on my tanks all the time - works like a charm.

Great job, everyone! Sorry I haven't been able to check in much - the "slavedrivers" at work have been cracking the whip hard! Anyway, nearly done with the Dual Tie Fighters. A few pics:
