The idea is to reproduce something as it is on dispaly.  But if oyu don't have the ability to produce your own decals, or don't have extras in the stash to make them, just get as close as you can to the subject and the way it is displayed as you can.  Rules in this GB are made of a soft rubbery like substance to remain flexible.

well heres a quick update...as soon as funding starts building again.....(truck took  s#!t) ill be able to get the fj-4b fury...either in 1/48 from match box or 1/72 from emhar. the voodoo on the other hand will be a little harder to find....i have found some on ebay....f-101b's...i can just say its an f model...but still no luck on finding anything definitive...so if by july i still cant find anything ill just drop the voodoo for the gb and stick with the fury.

Like that neon green slime that my daughter and nephew think is the greatest thing to fling at each other?   But if it gets on the carpet, it is there till the carpet gets replaced.....

I am thinking of trying the Testor Decal paper and applicator spray stuff.  Anyone have any experience with it?  The instructions say that any inkjet printer will work, but I am questioning that a bit.

 I am also making the end date a year out. i would hate to have someone quit just because they don't think they will make a deadline.

I'll be getting to my Elefant sometime late summer, just slogging away at my GBs based on the deadline finish date.  I've made a promise to myself to never miss another GB deadline again, and thankfully I'm caught up enough to give me lots of breathing room.

I'm still in. I just pulled out the box with the 3 kits in it (Lancaster, Spitfire & Hurricane). I'll take a photo of it later on and post it. I'm hoping to get the box opened and make a small start on one of the kits by the end of the day.

Do you allow cross-over GB projects?  If so, I would like to work on my Corsair here.  I am building Corsair KD431 over on the FAA GB.  It is currently displayed at the FAA museum in the UK.

The time frame for this GB perfect for me. Got plenty on my plate now, but by early next year I know I'll be able to fit this one in.

So I'd like to join this GB, Marc. This is what I had in mind...both taken on the streets of Vancouver (and yes, that is yours truly standing next to them). So, if someone can tell me exactly what either of these are, I'll find the kit of it.

This is going to be an EXTREMELY relaxed GB.

Mike- you are most assuredly welcome... and those are called tanks.  (Jeez... don't these people know anything about military hardware)  And if oyu use those photos  for the build, you will haveto bone up on your figure skills since the model should also have that guy... whom so ever it may be... included.

I have finally decided to do the P-51C as it appears now owned by Kermit Weeks in his Flights of Fantasy museum.  Kind of the a "Once AGAIN Warrior"

Don't worry about having too much on the plate.  I have a couple of builds before this one too.

I had a feeling that's what they're called (and I've always wondered what I'd look like in 1/72 scale) 

The first one looks like an E8, the second one I have no clue about.

Mike- Looks like a pretty standard M4A3E8, I had one of these new Dragon kits but traded it with a friend a while back.  I started on it, but was really not impressed with it.  The model pictured on the box cover has field added armor, but could be left off to model the one you are photographed with.  Each part had a number of sprue attatchments, most VERY difficult to remove w/o loosing some of the detail.  It was a very well detailed kit, just not very modeler friendly IMHO.  Just my

Hey buddy! I've been checking out reviews of E8's and that was one that caught my eye, until I noticed the track pattern. It looked a little different than the one I saw in Vancouver, but I did also find reviews for Dragon Kit No's. 6283 and 7302, which both have the correct track pattern. The first one is 1/35 and the second is 1/72, which is probably the direction I'll go. I have one other Dragon 1/72 kit (a T34-76 '1942') that I am planning on using for the 1/72 Russian Armor GB, and it looks like they addressed some of the issues you mentioned. All in all not a bad kit so hopefully the E8 will be of the same quality.

....and now there seems to be some doubt (on a thread I posted on the Armor forum) as to whether that is an E8 or not. Some have identified it as an M4A2 76mm HVSS, commonly used by Canada, so now I'm totally confused! LOL! I'll probably stick with the E8, as there seems to be more of a resemblance to that model than anything I could find on the M4A2.

I don't know how those treadheads do it! Glad I build mostly planes!

You could always shrink down the photo you have, so any possible discrepancies between your model and the real tank would go un-noticed.

Actually, the Dragon 1/72 looks pretty close, buddy. Besides, in 1/72, the only discrepancies I 'm hoping will go un-noticed will be when I build the 1/72 'me'.
