So any clue as to what this "surface sealer" stuff I read about? There are some swirl marks on the top of the body as well as the trunk area. I want to start cleaning it up.

Also I will be spraying Tamiya's gray primer through a airbrush.. what should I use to thin it out. Its my first stab at using it outside the spray can.

if u are decanting it from an aerosol can, then you don't need to thin it. put a large straw up to the tip and then spray into a film canister or an empty paint jar. shake the paint and open the lid often so that the dissolved propellent inside the paint will go away. when it stops bubling, you can shoot it through an AB

Please add me, if it's not too late!

I've never joined a GB, and have been out of regular building for a few years, and I'm looking for a reason to get back into it.

I can't decide what to build, right now.

The stash is HUGE, and the choices are many.

Can I get back to you when I pick the one I want to build?

Most likely will be a 1/48 airplane, of some sort.

right click on an image you want to put in, go to properties and then copy the image URL. go to "update profile" near the top of the page and scroll down to the signature sections. paste the URL between [ img] and [ /img] (without any spaces, I just put those there so they would show up).

It'll look like this (without the spaces). [ img]http://i115.photobucket.com/albums/n316/MerlinzMajik/FlameWings.jpg[ /img]

you can do the same thing with pictures.

I mentioned above.. I am using the liquid surface primer that is in the small square jar. Normally I use the spray can stuff, thats why I needed to knwo what to thin it with. Apparently all I need is denat. Alch.

Yes I do work at a hobbyshop. HobbyTownUSA and I am always willign to offer deals to anyone on the forum. ^_^

Since the GB leader got started already. I popped my Blackbird out of its box and worked on the office.

I am not going to put much work in to it. Since most of the office is going to be hard to see once it is covered up.

OK so I was sitting at my worktable thingy and nearly scalped myself. on the bottom of the SR... the blackbird not the drone... there is lik an almost 1/8 gap running all along the right joint where the bottom and top fuses come together... and right there, split by the gap, is the most complex scribing job on this project... and when I squeeze the gap together, it mathces up zilch!!!!

Well for anyone thats loacl, or close enough to drive to Fremont, I usually give a discount to the forum members. Also at the end of the year I put a lot of models on sale to make room for new stuff. So like right now... in the store we ahd a bunch of models that were 25% off and I mentioned to the forum members just to come in when I was scheduled and I would doa buy 2 get 1 for free + the 25% off. I posted it a few weeks ago.. but only one guy said he would show up, but never did. I sold a lot of kits regardless...

A couple of hints for those building the Monogram SR-71.  The D-21 drone as carried by the A-12, aka M-21, did not have the two pitot tubes on either side of the air intake.  Those were added on the D-21B as modified to be carried by the B-52H.  Also, the vertical rectangle with the cropped off top corners on the outside of the rudders should be flush with the rest of the surface, not embossed.

The B-52 and me, we have grown old, gray and overweight together.
