2007 Powder Puff GB-Ladies only!

Where have all the ladies gone?  No posts for almost two weeks.  Let's see some more of those beautiful models.

Wow, this GB has been busy. 

Texgal- That is another nice ANG bird.  You've got quite an airwing going. You are quite a hand with NMF.  Two birds in 3 months, quite prolific. Anything else catch your eye?  That German thing that looks like a cross between a motorcycle and a tank is a Kettenkraftrad.  I'm fond of it myself.  Someone here in Indiana has one restored and it was on display at one of the local town's 150th birthday festival.  I took lots of pics.  I think I have one in 1/72 to build...*bad girl, don't be tempted to new projects*

Yasemin-  That is a nice Blackbird.  I've got a soft spot for it myself.  The Blackbird was the second kit I ever built, but I was about 8 and mine wasn't that nice. I have the kit to build again and your plane is tempting me into starting it even with all the others I need to finish. Nice work! Seen anything else you'd like to build?

PinkChevelle- Looks like both projects are making progress.  That engine does look nice in the chassis.  It really brings things together.  The other project seems to coming together too.  The Chevelle and the tyke will both make wonderful additions to the house.  In a few years, Junior might be posting here.  If it follows after QuadmyreJr, we'll be seeing posts a lot sooner.  Since both of you are on here will we be looking for TheLastChevelle or PinkPriest, ?

Tigerman- Thanks for visiting us and I thought you could find someone to take your challenge.  If the Hiddensee wasn't giving me grief and I wasn't trying finish up stuff I'd already started, I'd be tempted by the M1046 Humvee and TOW Launcher and modern military equipment set I picked up at HobbyLobby's last Model sale.

My fiancee read your message and looked up the tank they used in the movie Tank Girl for me, So if I can find that model I will give it a shot! It wont be a war remake tank though it will be redone so it looks like the one in the movie.

Unfortunately, I wouldn't know a piece of armor if it ran over me.  Tanks, jeeps, guns, 1/2 tracks, APC's, what's them things?  The German WW-II stuff especially with all those unpronounceable names.  How the heck do you keep track of what weird name goes with what thingie?   I do sort of like that little thingie that looks like a cross between a motorcycle and a tank.

So if my 2nd grade arithmatic is not failing me, you are about 2 months into the program!  Congratulations, best wishes and keep up the great building work.  You'll love the little once it gets here.

I think Mother Nature will take care of making your "other model" pink.  That is pretty much her color of choice for babies.  I never could interpret those sonogram pictures.  They all look like just a bunch of blobs.  Did the Doctor tell you the "grand entrance" day?

Everytime the doctor went to snap the picture, the little sucker would hide its head. But here is my other model. I want to make it pink! 

I love your choice of the SR-71 as your first model.  You did a great job.  Keep it up.

Hi, my name is Yasemin. My Grandpa is jeaton01.  I built my first model today.  My Grandpa helped a little but not much.  He wouldn't cut any of the parts, I did all of that, and I mostly put all of the parts together.  He did some of the typing too.  This is my first model.  I will be five on June 16.

I just finished my third model, the second one for this Powder Puff Group Build.  It is the Revell, 1/72 scale F-89D/J Scorpion.  I built it as a J model from the 119 Fighter Group, 178 Fighter Squadron of the North Dakota Air National Guard at Fargo.  The kit went together rather well with very few problems.  I left the main landing gear doors open even though they are closed in all the pictures I have seen of the plane on ground.  I wanted to be able to see the inside of the gear wells.  I guess the plane was undergoing some last minute maintenance before going on alert with the two Genie missiles.  The decals from the kit were terrible.  The first ones that I tried to use disentegrated into a gazillion pieces when I put them in water.  I sprayed 3 coats of clear decal fixer over them and let it dry for a week.  They only broke into 5 or 6 pieces the next time I tried to use them.  Getting the pieces lined up on the model was a real pain in the you know what.
  I used Model Master's Aero Master aerosol Aluminum Plate for the basic finish and buffed it to a glossy shine.  I sprayed some on several test scraps and then put different clear coats over them.  Every one of them took away most of the shine, so I didn't use a clear overcoat on the plane.  That is why the clear part of the decal shows up in some pictures.  Comments welcome.

Nice work on the Chevy.  That pink engine is a little hard on the eyes, but still looks very nice.

When you find the AWOL items, confine them to the BRIG on bread and water.  That way, they won't get away again.

Wow, That bird is coming along. Nice metal finish.  You'll have two before anyone else has one. 

I'm trying to ransom the stern plate and a rudder back from the carpet monster and my sprues are missing now.  No idea now but they've been AWOL for a week.

I finally tore myself away from my grandson for a little while and got work done on my Revell 1/72 F-89J Scorpion.  I used Model Master Silver Plate aerosol paint and then buffed it to a shine.  I just hope the shine isn't ruined by the clear coat yet to come.

WOW, you and your family definately have had your share of misfortune lately.  I hope things take a turn for the better real soon.
