I am trying to add a model related comment to each post....I may contact Gerry about his paint....the P-35 isn't a big deal.....but going to build a lot of yellow-wings needing 'NMF looks'.

Does anyone recommend my laying down perhaps a piece of plexi or regular glass on my new benchtop as a work surface? I spent for the best 'chipboard' stuff but I know I'm gonna kill it with knives.

I guess I is a cheesehead since I live in WI!  I'm not a football fan either, so I really don't follow the games.

As for your bench top, what about a piece of countertop?  Pretty strong and resistant surface to be sure.

Darren- Can you add another aircraft to my list for me?  I am going to build a 1/48 Monogram PBY-5A Catalina, though I don't have one yet.  My girlfriend knows how much I want one, so she told me tonight to go get one and she would pay for it.  Is she awesome, or what?

I don't say this too often but that's a beautiful plane.  You did a great job.

I would like to add that I'm doing a bit of work on my FAA Corsair.  The wings are about done, clipped also.  Turned out very well.

This April sees the one year anniversary of our Fleet Air Arm GB, as we are a close knit bunch on here,  we wanted to keep things going so we decided as a group to start a USN/USMC Fleet Air Wing GB. All the rules and regs are on Page 1. Both GB's are open to all comers and the FAA build is still going strong, so feel free to jump in anytime.

Just don't leave your rum ration laying around if Frank is on duty.............

Darson thanks for the info, you have already given me all the ref. I needed, thanks.  It looks like the wings are clipped right up to the edge of the outer formation light.  All that was need was to mark the straight edge with tape and cut then sand until I had a nice neat line.  From the ref pics it turned out great.

The clipped wing looks spot on Roy.
