Fellas-

I had to come here first to tell you guys how my show went today!  I managed to win 5 awards, including a first place axis prop with my 1/48 Tamiya Zero.  And, my Seafire 46 that I built here for the GB managed to not only take a third place in a class (1/48 Allied prop) dominated by some of the finest models I have ever seen, but I also won a special award with it for get this:

BEST BRITISH AIRCRAFT

There were Spitfires, Hurricanes, Mosquitos, Beaufighters, and a myriad of other superlative British planes.  Unbelievable!  The show was huge, with around 800 entries and the stiffest competition I have ever seen.  I am still in shock!

Thank you very, very much!  I still can't believe it, there was a GORGEOUS 1/32 Spitfire Mk.I and a 1/72 scratchbuilt Sopwith aircraft that were bloody amazing!  I am very proud of that one!

Darren- Blush [:I] Wow, thanks mate!  I couldn't wait to tell you, without your help she never would have even made it to the contest table.  Thanks again! Big Smile [:D]

Thanks Nam!  Yep, it was the Seafire that won 3rd in 1/48 Allied prop and Best British Aircraft.  I am still in shock!  I like it, but I would have picked other models over it.

Lads,

I'm looking for a very old Aeromaster decal sheet, its the Original Seafires part 1-no 48-441.

No one seems to have it, if you happen to come across one give me a shout will you? Here what it looks like:

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.Wink [;)]

Thanks Rick, here here! Make a Toast [#toast]

Darren- I have looked for those decals in a couple of places, but no luck so far.  I noticed these are 1/48, are those what you are looking for?  I have a couple of other "contacts" that I will check with tomorrow to see if they might have some.

Thanks for looking Frank. It is the 1/48 sheet that I am looking for, it was released back in 1999 and it is only recently through doing some research that I discovered it. I would love to build the  all over black scheme in 1/48 as I have a cracking idea for a diorama. I can build it in 1/32 scale, but I won't be able to make the dio that big.Blush [:I]

Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.Wink [;)]Thumbs Up [tup]

Daz I thought I might be able to help you out for a minute but I have checked and I have the newer Seafires sheet Seafires At War Pt 1 Scale: 1/48 #48769.

Hello chaps!

Here is a sneak peek of the awful Revell 1/32 Seafire Mk.Ib  that I am currently doing battle with!Big Smile [:D]

This is the all over black scheme as seen on the decal sheet I spoke about earlier. I have done a bit of reading up and some folks say that this airframe was painted a very dark shade of blue. I have it on good authority that the airframe wa sin fact black all over, but because I like the "blue look" I cheated and mixed an extra dark blue and sprayed it on. I still have plenty of work to do on this one, but here is how she looks so far.......

Not sure where your battles with the kit were........looks pretty awesome to me from that angle, Boss.

However, I've been meaning to ask other modelers about what they 'pack' the cockpit with for paint masking.....looks like tissue.....but if there's a better medium......would love to hear about it!

Darren, nice work on the Seafire.  Looks good from here.

On another topic, I do in fact have the Aeromaster Sheet 48-441 Seafires pt.1.  Let me know if you're still interested.

Hello Mates,

I have just finished read the post that I missed.  Seems a lot has happened in my absence.  Darren, great to hear that you survived.  Rum and yard work do not mix.

It was great to meet frank in person, great guy!  I hope that at some date and time more of us can get together.

We are still house hunting so it will be a while before I can start building.

Now where's the rum.............

Sign - Welcome [#welcome] back Roy!  Glad to hear you made it safe and sound.  Now as to the Rum there is some debate over who had the key last before the CAG was back on duty.  Whistling [:-^]
