Hey All.

Thanks for the kind words with regards to my A4B, it's always hard to guage how things look to others.  And yep Daywalker I can confirm it's a 1/72 kit, and yep first try with an Airbrush, it's gratifying that others think it's a good first shot.

Hey Rick the Wyvern looks great!  I've always liked the FAA colour scheme, it's going to be an awesome model.

Anyways, will post up details of my actual build for this project soon, looks like I might be getting a little ambitious and be going for a triple build of Jolly Rogers marked F-4S, F-14A and F/A-18F. Just awaiting kits to arrive from the UK and US. It's gonna be fun.  :)

Chaos, panic, disorder ... my work here is done.

Well I'm still plodding along on my Wyvern for the FAA GB.  I know it's past due, but thought I'd post some progress pics.

The rework of the wing cannons came out better than I expected.  Need to add the prop, underwing stores, clear parts & some misc. fiddly bits & this bird will be done.  Finally Smile [:)].

Regards,  Rick

This isn't my actual entry. That is currently winging its way to me from the other side of the world (literally), but this is on topic, so I thought I'd give it a public airing.

The finished product of my first forray back into the world of model building, and my first ever foray into the black art of airbrush usage.  Not as purdy as what you guys are producing, but I'm proud of it.  Smile [:)]

It's a 1/72 Scale Fujimi A4B Skyhawk, built out of the box, painted in the standard gloss Grey upper/White lower cam scheme (Gunze paints), with Attack Squadron 95 markings, finnished with a watered down Citidel Black Ink wash, sealed with Gunze Gloss.

I shall agree to represent you before the mast should the need arise....but be advised!

I am a terrible lawyer! So keep your buying on the Q.T. Otherwise.....bring a hacksaw blade to court!

My need to dazzle the court with BS is the main issue.....but with some of the peers here......I may have to represent some of them soon too! So a stacked jury is a possibility!

Thanks Roy, I'll keep that in mind! Cool [8D]

But, the kit I bought CAME with decals and ROY said it was OK to buy decals so I thought it would be OK!

Mike- Thanks my friend, much appreciated! Big Smile [:D]

I looked through my stash for some decals for you, but was astonished to see that I have ZERO decals for Wildcats. Shock [:O]  Looks like I may need to rectify that in the very near future. Mischief [:-,]

Mike-I can understand the need....err, well, want....to use different decals.  That's usually the first thing I do after I buy a kit and more often than not, I look at aftermarket decals before I buy the kit.

Frank-fine looking Wildcat you have there.

Bob & Frank....those are some great-lookin' 'cats you guys built! I will be adding a generous portion of a TD resin 'pit to mine (not the entire resin set as the kit office looks really nice, too), plus a set of their resin wheels as well and some scratchbuilt details. As far as the decals go, I guess I was just looking for something a little different than what was in the box. Wink [;)]

Thanks guys.  The Tamiya Wildcat is a very forgiving kit and was a fun build.  Hope to add more to my collection.

Still not sure what I'm going to build for this one.  Thinking about trying something different-maybe a jet or the helicopter.  Will advise.

.....and construction has officially begun on my Tamiya F4F-4 Wildcat. Ordered some decals for it to avoid using the kit ones, so at this point I'm not sure whos 'cat I'm building yet. Should be fun, though. Keep up the good work, guys!

rudd-Thanks.  And don't let the Tamiya decals for the Wildcat scare you.  They settle down nicely with liberal doses of Solvaset.  At least they did for mine. (Midway GB a couple of years ago)

Mike,

Glad to hear you have started on the Wildcat!  I built one of those a few years back, great kit.  Can't wait to see it with the "Ruddratt Treatment"! Big Smile [:D]
