I have returned from Cleveland.  The IPMS Region 4 Model Show was really a great event.  The organizing Chapters pulled out all the stops & this was probably the best Show I've attended, other than the Nats. Competition was fierce with a plethora of excellent models on display.  I entered the Wyvern & it got lots of looks & favorable comments, but alas the Judges passed on her .

All was not lost however, as I entered 12 models in 10 Categories & ended up with 3 First, 3 Second & 2 Third Place Awards .

Here's one you Navy type lads might find interesting....

A 1/72 Tamiya F4D-1 Skyray that earned a First Place in 1/72 Jet.

Land-lubber that I am, I have no idea what any of the above means, but it seems very official.  ;)  LOL

Hope all had a good weekend, no work done on the Tomcat apart from staring longingly at parts and the Jolly Rogers decals, as I had to Airbrush badges for my brother's car, still that mission is now complete and I've a long weekend coming due to ANZAC day, I don't think any of the old Digs would be too offended if I did some building after Dawn parade, so work shall commence shortly.

Excuse the lack of ye olde authentic pirate talk.  ;)

Aye! decks swabbed.....hatches battened.....slackers sent to the yardarms......weekend toasts given all around. Aye! I believe we are shipshape. I set the weekend rum maid adrift in a cloth dinghy to make her own way. (She don't know from plastic)

We have fair wind and following seas......and the ship is steady on her head!

I now turn the deck over to the next watch......from a different time zone..............

I just received a signal from the Cap'n.  He shall be back on deck by the end of the week.  Let's keep this GB ship-shape and save a tot or two of rum for him, lest he grow suspicious of where it all went to.

Gents, I am off today and tomorrow, work on Sunday, off on Monday, work on Tuesday, off Wednesday and Thursday, and back Friday and Saturday.  Kind of a weird schedule, but I am planning on lots of bench time!  My girlfriend is on vacation with the camera, so no progress photos for the next week and a half.  My Corsair is mostly together, and I plan to start painting it later this week.  I'll post some pics as soon as I can!  In the meantime, I hear the rum Goddess calling my name!

ARRRRRR!!!......In I be! Tempted the waistrel with the wingless fuselage of a 1/48 B-17F! No self respectin' wench can resist that! It be hard for me to......!

The forecast for this weekend is for snow if you can believe it!!!   You'd think I was still living on the prairies with a forecast like that.  Anyway, good excuse to spend some time at the  workbench instead of going out for a bike ride

It's official, my first entry for the group build is going to be a 1/72 Fujimi F-14A Tomcat, it's just arrived this very mornng from it's long arduous journey from the UK.  hooorah!

I'll commence WiP pics soon.
