This is the A-4M I am working on now for this GB.

It even comes with a small bonus PE fret!  Today, I started by cleaning up the LG parts- a lotta molding seams but I got them all squared away!  More to come...

Hey Darson.

Funny that you should mention The Final Countdown, as I watched it about two weeks ago.  Cool [8D]

Just so happens that my now ex-brother in law that introduced me to Model kits back when I was a wee fulla (waaay back in the 80's) also introduced me to that movie at about the same time, it made me a huge fan of the Jolly Rogers squadron markings and US Navy aircraft in general, ever since.  Lets face it apart from the multiple 70's/80's famous faces that appear in that movie VF-84 and the F-14 Tomcat are the true stars.  Love the 'splash the Zeroes' scene by the way.

Anyway that little segway over with The Final Countdown was the inspiration (yeah I know not the most accurate or compelling reason, but it gives me a nice nostalgic twinge back to being 7 years old again, which I think is reason enough) for the kit that I'm doing for the group build.  Hence the big wait for a Hi-vis VF-84 marked F-14A to arrive all the way from the UK instead of picking up any old F-14 from one of the LHS's in my area.

Very astute of you to pick that up by the way fulla.  Thumbs Up [tup]

You might have noticed in the pic of the Tomcat in my stash that there are multiple A6 Intruder kits, one of them just so happens to be a KA-6D Intruder tanker with 'Black Panther' squadron markings like the one that re-fuels the Tomcats before the A6M Zero intercept in the movie, not an intentional purchase but a very nice little accident of fait, so no surprise when I say that when the KA-6D gets built she'll be dressed in 'Black Panther' markings (might as well have a big time Final Countdown motiff going down range on my display shelf eh? - LOL).

I should watch it again and figure out what squadron the SH3s and the A7Es were and see if I can match them as well for a bit of a giggle (I'd imagine, that would prove a little difficult, especially with the dearth of SH3 Seaking kits out there).

*Sigh* makes me wish I was 15 kgs lighter, so I could fit the VF-84 patched MA1 flight jacket I got for my 14th birthday again.  Ahh nostalgia is a wonderful thing at 31 years of age.  LOL

Well anyways, it's late, I should stop rambling and being a big Sci-fi movie geek, will post some more WiP pics tomorrow, the big cat's cockpit is nearly finished.

Chaos, panic, disorder ... my work here is done.

Hey Aaron (kilo1-1) just as a side not I was searching YouTube the other night and came across these two clips from the movie The Final Countdown.  If you've never seen this flick do yourself a favour and check this out for some awesome F-14 action.

Nam- Good man!  Hopefully you haven't had TOO much rum (is there such a thing?), we don't want you teetering and falling overboard! Propeller [8-]

I sprayed my Corsair blue this evening, and she's sitting in the case drying right now.  After a day airdrying, I'll put her in my home-made drying oven for an hour or two to speed up the curing.  My girlfriend is home Sunday night with the camera, so I'll post a pic or two then!  Now, instead of a "Corsair-ish lump of gray styrene, she looks like a Corsair-ish lump of gray sytrene painted blue! Big Smile [:D]  Man, that's a lotta blue on one of these!
