Bob, great to see you back! Thumbs Up [tup]

.....and construction has officially begun on my Tamiya F4F-4 Wildcat. Ordered some decals for it to avoid using the kit ones, so at this point I'm not sure whos 'cat I'm building yet. Should be fun, though. Keep up the good work, guys!

Bob, great to have you back with us Make a Toast [#toast]  I have 2 SBDs in my stash, an AM and Hasagawa both 1/48.  Still working on the FAA Corsair and will be doing a 1/72 Hasagawa USMC AV8B (thanks Darren).

Wow....you miss a few weeks...ok, months...and things really change.  I've been reviewing a couple of pages and still a lot of great work being displayed here.

After Roy graciously reminded me that I had been AWOL for a bit (over in the Aircraft forum), I'm going to try (key word being try) to adjust my build schedule and start on something for this one early summer.  Not sure if I'm going to stay with the AM SBD (a great kit, but a bit involved-depends on my time constraints) or go with something else.  Anyway, I will be dropping in more often.

Cheers

Bob

Thanks for the compliments, guys!

The pilot is painted with Citadel colors and washes, using basic techniques, and took about an afternoon/evening to finish. I took some extra pics so maybe I could do a short guide.

Frank,

Aye Sir, gettin' to it right away Sir!

Cheers,

Azgaron

Thanks for the compliments, they are appreciated. Darson the only AM parts at this point are the seats they are from the verlinden cockpit detail set.  Looking at daywalkers and AZ's we should be in for some very nice builds.

Excellent work there Barry!  Thanks for sharing the pics. Thumbs Up [tup]

Azgaron- Very nice job on the pilot there!  I gotta agree with Darren, I'm no good at figure painting.  Reason #1 why I don't have any displays done for any of my aircraft. Sigh [sigh]

Got a signal from the Cap'n saying that he'll be back this weekend with more rum, so let's keep these decks scrubbed and the brass polished!  Maybe he will issiue an extra ration or two for us! Make a Toast [#toast]

Frank, great looking progress, she'll look great with a coat of paint on her.

Barry the front office on your F-14 looks awesome, are all of those parts OOB or is there some AM thrown in?

Az that’s good looking progress especially the pilot (I suck at figure painting).  Looking forward to some more pics.

Cheers

Nice progress, Frank! That pit looks very nice!

Very nice work with the pit and the seats, newoldguy!

Here's a little of what I've been up to! Smile [:)] The pilot got some paint!

I keept the distance to avoid showing all the gory detail! Smile [:)]

While working on the ejector pin marks, I eradicated a few on the wall between the cockpit and the wheel well.

But strangely enough, the instructions are showing these marks! Shock [:O]

Although it maybe doesn't matter, cause you hardly see what's in there, but it sure would be nice to know how it should look!

Cheers,

Azgaron

Can do Roy! (after you send some photos)....and send me sq. ft. of house.....window sizes and where the windows are.....basement, attic or crawlspace....or none of the above.

Always wanted to visit WY......I'd schlep out there.....you put me up for a week.....offer help when you can. I have no tax # in WY so items would get pricey!

To start....just tell me what your present system is like and maybe we can improve it cheaply!

Glad to help!

Thanks for the Welcome all.

And thanks for the leads on where to find the VF84 Decals.   I found plenty of F4 VF84 decal sets, nothing for the F14, however I did come accross a stash of Fujimi F14s with VF84 markings at an online store.  At this stage I may pick up one of those for the decals and mate them with a Hasegawa F14, or I may just build the Fujimi kit at the end of the day, I've just never seen on of their Kitty Cats in the flesh, so I dunno if the kits are any good or not.  As you can tell I'm really wanting to do a VF84 Tomcat for this build.  LOL  Those F4 Decals were looking mighty nice too, so I'm just debating doing both a VF84 F4 and F14, will update in a few days once I've given it some thought.  :)

Anyways, once again thanks for the warm welcome, I just completed my A4B last night, so I will try and get some sanps of it in the next couple of days and post em up here for a bit of motivation for all.

Chaos, panic, disorder ... my work here is done.

Did some more work on the Corsair today, she's really coming along now!

Glued the office into the fuse, and started cleaning up the seams.  Back to work tomorrow, so not much more progress for a few days.

There have been more posts here since I went out earlier this evening than there were all weekend! Big Smile [:D]

Roy- welcome back.  Would someone hand me their secret rum locker key?  Come on, I know you have one!  I think Roy's return warrants an extra ration. (Or, maybe two! Tongue [:P]
