With all due respect to our south of the equator friends that felt the stab of the knife, perhaps the next iteration of this GB is the Imperial Japanese Navy (Nihon Kaigun) GB.

The farthest ever reaching naval force in modern times, until, umm, they got kicked out to the curb.

I'd be in with a big fat Emily.

I would wholeheartedly participate in that venture Bondo! Sean seems to be the only other person I have seen to have the Hasegawa 1/72 Jake in his stash and that GB would be the perfect excuse to build her! I picked up mine around 1989-90 when I was stationed on Guam. If it's an agreeable build with the rest of the crew? Ok I have fully caught up with the posts now. Thanks guys for the welcome backs and it's great to be back with THE CREW! This will be a long winded post.

Aaronw how nice to see you about again!!!!!!! I was getting worried there, honestly I was. Hadn't seen you post in ages in the firebomber GB, then again neither have I but was still worried. Glad to see you back!!!!!!! Nice chopper btw! Looking forward to seeing that one completed!

Frank Congrats on 8grand!!!!!! Thanks!

Roy the exchange was a GREAT success in my book and would love to do it again!!! Great job on organizing it! WELL DONE!!! Happy B-Day [bday] belate wise!!!! That is an awesome spray booth!!! I am an aircraft sheetmetal worker by trade. Looking at pic and taking notes.Wink [;)] Gotta few ideas running around in my head, just have to try and catch them. Can't be bothered at the moment, enjoying the rum right now lol. The new brushless puter fans shouldn't be much of a hazard to fumes i wouldn't think. if so might have jet exhaust LOL. Now sweat with acrylics at all.

Sean Your TBD is coming along very nicely!!!!!!! Wanted that kit ages ago! Something about that big silver and yellow scheme. As mentioned above, I think you are the only other person I have seen that has the 1/72 Hasegawa Jake!!!! Been wanting to build it for ages. With Bondo's idea(hint, hint everyone) I might be inspired to!

Daniel BEAUTIFUL Avenger there!!! Outstanding weathering!!!!

CAG Love those birds you got there!!!!! The gunfighter is awesome! I actually saw one still in service on the ramp at McClelland AFB early one Saturday morning in '79. Obviously in the twilight of it's career. The F-4 is GREAT as well!!!! Love the base!!!! Thanks for sharing how you did it!!!!

Aaron an Armadillo ate your rose bushes????!!!! I have several rose bushes in my new garden. Have to say the Rose is my fave flower. You do have to stop and smell them once in a while.Wink [;)] Be thinkin' he needs to go in the pot!!!!!! A little Oppossum on the half-shell!!!!LOL. Glad to see your doing better!!!!

Dee Congrats on 100!!!! Looking forward to more posts!!! You inject a great comic relief into this GB!!!! It is much appreciated! Looking forward to the Corsair build!!!!! Come on Break Sprue with a Merlot!!!!

Roger Glad you liked the gift!!!! Looking forward to seeing it built! That was the Aussie twist I had mentioned last year lol. Enjoy!

Greg very nice lil Stringbag you built there!!! Is it 1/72? Lol definately got my attention for obvious reasons.Wink [;)] Liking the Sealightning as well!!! The tailhook location? Wouldn't that interfere with the boarding ladder, or did that model have one?Wink [;)] Looking good!!!Thumbs Up [tup]

Paul Very nice looking bug you have there!!!! Top notch office!!!!

Whew! Sorry if I missed anybody!!! Again, great to be back!!! the ex got the digital so will have to suffice with crappy quality phone pics till I get a better digital than before. Why? Because I can! LOL

Dee, congrats on the 100 milestoneParty [party]

AaronW, I like what you have done.

Sean, she's lookiing good.  I take it your doing the blue & gray scheme?

Richie, happy you enjoyed the gift exchange.  If it's OK with the GB I'll host the exchange next this Christmas also.

A Japanesse GB?  I have one kit in my stash that fits the bill, Tamiya's 1/48 A6M5c Zero, the older kit.  I may be willing to host the GB is no one else wants the jobPropeller [8-]

Roy - yes you are right, I had pre -planned on doing this in NMF with the yellow but after the "Spilt Glue incident"  I was afraid that the starboard side might really show where it happened. Maybe the next one  Sigh [sigh]

Thanks for the feedback folks. I had thought about the boarding ladder and envisaged the new ladder swinging out slightly to the side of the hook. I've not scribed it onto the model as it wouldn't be seen anyways.

Update pic time but first the requested pic. one Sea Hurricaane MK1. 'Hurricat'. this version didn't have the arrestor hook but had catapult spools for launching off CAM ships.

and now the Sea Lightning.

These are the first coats and she will(hopefully) look alot sharper than this when done.

All the best.

Greg

Sean, how do you do it?  I never seem to get free time that I want.  Me and the little man are home today.  Perhaps I will get some time on the Corsair.  Want to close up the fuselage today.

GENTS!

'Tis the weekend, and I believe rum be the order of the day!

Master Chief- break out the barrels, the men appear a tad thirsty.  The CAG is away, and seeing as there is a plentiful supply- double rations to all!

Mac- Stop keel-hauling the new recruits!  At this rate they'll be absolutely worthless by morn. If anyone needs me- I shall be in my cabin entertaining interviewing some ladies for the PBYGB. Short of a fire or the ship being swallowed by a Giant Octopus, no interuptions!Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg]

Suzanne shall hand out the rations, and Nam- she told me about the gooses- mind your hand Mister!  Lest the next time you be in the 'ead- you'll be wiping your bum with a hook! Shock [:O]

AAARRRGGGHHH!!!!!

Pirate [oX)]

That is all.

Rum Stowage is unlocked , where are those New Recruits to get the barrels topside. I will have Suzanne double the double rations for those who shoveled the deck free of ice and snow.
