Frank - Outstanding Work, I need to switch to your brand of Breakfast Cereal to get that devoted to the blue birds. Or is it blue bonnet ? Blue bells ? Ahh this stuff is confusing me with blue in it.

I still expect to see those cowl flaps work when you pull the lever for them.Wink [;)] Where did you find the reference for the salmon primer ? Most of my library has B&W pics so I always figured Green Chromate was the ticket.

Thanks Sean!  Always loved these birds, ever since watching Baa Baa Black Sheep with Robert Conrad with my Dad as a kid. Approve [^]

I got the reference for the salmon primer here at IPMS Stockholm.  Sounds like it was quite common on the early birds, for all interior surfaces except the cockpit.  A lot of interesting info ther for other Navy birds. Thumbs Up [tup]

I tried the lever expecting them to work, but the linkage got fouled somewhere inside the fuselage and unfortunately they'll be for static display only! Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg]

Kinda not likely- they're all wage slaves driving Beemers into Jackson, MI to their airconditioned jobs at Toyota. Where's a good Cracker when we need one?

Hi all,

I know that my name isnt on the roster yet but I am working on my Corsair and while I dont have any picts to post yet I do have a question that I hope all you Corsair junkies can answer.  What color is the inside of the canopy supports?  Are they the Blue like the outside or are they the Zinc Chromate like the inside?  Thanks in advance.

I will post some picts when the temp gets to a place when I can get some primering done...this 40's and 30's make it to cold outside...:)

Thanks again

T,

I have a couple of pics of the canopy from the F4U-1D of the DFW wing of the CAF and the front windscreen supports on the interior are cockpit black.

Buddy- Those who say there are no stupid questions have never worked in customer service.

Yep, inside of the canopy frames should be black.  Helped cut down on the glare. Thumbs Up [tup]

Dee - Maybe Aaron has a P-40N hid away. I have been wanting to build one like this for sometime.
