Well sure, sounds good. I didn't belong to this scurvy crew last time around for the FAAM, so it's Bonny Prince Armstrong Whit' whit' me! I'm in with a Whitley; Frog 1/72 and I'll build the SP-5 Marlin some other day.

The Bondostash does produce ripe lemons on occasion. This is the year of the stash, for sure.

No. 734 Naval Air Squadron operated Whitleys 1944-1946 according to wiki; not to be confused with RAF Coastal Command which is the box art and kit decals, or the RAF itself- Bomber command.

Helpful list:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_aircraft_of_the_Fleet_Air_Arm

So research and markings are in order, but ain't that wot it's aboot, ye LANDLUBBERY crew o' misfits, frilly shirt purchasers, Dame Edna fans and generally Spikey people!

Frank,

glad you like the FAA idea! A Swordfish?  Now this I want to see! Tongue [:P] Its sounds awfully cold in your neck of the woods, hope you are OK over there.Thumbs Up [tup]

LOL, yep- have been wanting a Stringbag in my display case for a LOOOOONG time!  Have also thought about maybe a Fairey Barracuda- a strangely attractive aircraft in my book. Thumbs Up [tup]

Sure is cold!  As a matter of fact, the current temperature in Anarctica is -17F at Vostok Station, and right now it is -18F here!  So, I could actually go to the South Pole and it would be warmer there than it is here.  That ain't right in my book. Disapprove [V]

You guys (even the ones one fishnets) really are extraordinarily generous with your comments. Thanks for the positive vibe.

The FAA thing is doing it for me too. I'm thinking of something a little exotic like a Boulton Paul Balliol, or a Hunter with a pointy radome nose in FAA markings might be good. My Trumpy Seahawk has been waiting patiently for a while too. I remember trying to make a decent fist of the early Airfix kit in my teens and slicing my finger wide open.

Then again I might go and do yet another Martlet/Wildcat or Hellcat. Lots of possibilities but I am IN IN IN.

Cheers

Tony

I'm just taking it one GB at a time.

Tony, awesome job on the Hellcat.  The exhaust looks good, I like it.  Did you say 15 builds this year? Shock [:O]  That's double what I get around to even in 1/72!

FAA eh?  Well, unlike you guys I don't have anything in my humble stash that qualifies.  Sad [:(]  I guess I'll have to go shopping! Big Smile [:D]

Thanks Darrren, right now I'm thinking either something early like the Gladiator or the Stringbag or something post war like the vampire.  Will let you know when the time comes.

In the meantime I got some more work done on the Corsair.  Almost ready to close up the fuse.  Nothing fancy, this will be completely OOB.  Will post some pics soon.

Progress is moving forward but slow. Touched up a few bleed throughs on the leading edges and painted the inner flaps green~chromo. Also razor sawed all the needed clear canopy pieces for the "Open" version and got them all dipped in Future and drying.

TBD-01

TBD-02 Not much new to show but this page needs at least a few pics of an airplane on it Pirate [oX)]

Sean,

Thanks for the offer, but I was planning on doing the Spirit of Texas Sea Fury.  Pics of this beautiful bird can be found at www.ezellaviation.com  Go to the past projects link and click on Sea Fury.  In perusing the site, I found out she uses a Skyraider prop with a custom spinner.  I can get a prop, now I just need to figure out the spinner.

Sean- Excellent progress pics!  I am VERY excited to see your TBD all done up, something about those birds that I really like.  Keep up the great work! Approve [^]

Buddy- A racer, eh?  Very cool.  My next Corsair project is the "Super Corsair" racer.  It comes to the EAA fly-in every year, and I have my picture taken next to it each time.  Still can't get over how big those things are! Shock [:O]
