Thanks Nam!  Yep, it was the Seafire that won 3rd in 1/48 Allied prop and Best British Aircraft.  I am still in shock!  I like it, but I would have picked other models over it.

Frankie Daywalker! I called it a Grand Slam in the PM.....but there is no superlative I can think of for 5 wins!

Thank you very, very much!  I still can't believe it, there was a GORGEOUS 1/32 Spitfire Mk.I and a 1/72 scratchbuilt Sopwith aircraft that were bloody amazing!  I am very proud of that one! 

Darren- Wow, thanks mate!  I couldn't wait to tell you, without your help she never would have even made it to the contest table.  Thanks again!

Fellas-

I had to come here first to tell you guys how my show went today!  I managed to win 5 awards, including a first place axis prop with my 1/48 Tamiya Zero.  And, my Seafire 46 that I built here for the GB managed to not only take a third place in a class (1/48 Allied prop) dominated by some of the finest models I have ever seen, but I also won a special award with it for get this:

I actually got some modelling done today! Take my advice and don't buy the revell 1/32 Seafire, its an bloody nightmare of a kit! All I've done is sand, sand,sand!!!!

Still, I have to lead by example and I will not give in. I will fight it on the bench and in the workshop and I shall prevail!!   Eventually....................

Now, when will Tamiya release a Seafire in 1/48?

Eduard have just released a Fairy Fulmar with all the trimmings..............oh c'mon! I have to have one of those.........no really!

It'll be the last kit I buy this year......honest!

Not much going on in the workshop at the minute, I'm spending some quality time with my family.

I might get a little time over the weekend, if I do I'd like to finish sanding my Seafire and maybe get some paint on the airframe. In the meantime, its late and I'm treating myself to a drink by the fireside.

Darren- Could you put me down for a 1/48 Tamiya Swordfish Mk.II for the FAAGB?  After a horrible, grueling 14 hour day at work, I came home to find a 1/48 Tamiya Mk.II Stringbag sitting on my doorstep with some PE, resin and a Squadron "In Action" book!  Thank you so much Nam, you really made my day with that.  I surely do hope that I do her proud, and really can't wait for the day to repay the favor.  Much appreciated!

I did a little more sanding to my Seafire tonight, its going to take a lot of work to make this one pass muster! I am hoping all the hard work is worth it.

THE CAG IS BACK!  As of 05.00hrs Tuesday morning I return to full duties and you lot better have the deck cleared!!

At 21.00hrs I will comsume vast quantities of bangers and mash and all will be right in the world....................

In other words.........the doc told me to get back to work! I had a good day and it turns out that I have a four day leave coming after Thursday! I think I will have a drink or two.....the doc says its OK now I'm off the "sleepy pills"
