Darren, welcome back mate!!!!  Having little girls myself I understand exactly what it is like when they are seriously (hospital) sick.  I am really glad that everything is ok now and your little boy is back to normal self Thumbs Up [tup]Thumbs Up [tup]Thumbs Up [tup].

I tell you one thing though, I am seriously jealous of that secret workshop it looks cool.  I especially like the shelving that you've got against the wall, great idea.

Pictures of our workspace.......

OK, first off the location of Tango 1's secret workshop is a closely guarded secret. So if you can't promise to keep it secret look away now..................

Still here? Good show!

Here's where I do my plastic butchering!Big Smile [:D]

My workshop is set at the bottom of my garden and is surrounded with a nice view of the plants outside. There's windows all round so I get plenty of light and when I use the airbrush, I just throw the doors open for ventilation. Also, its lovely and quiet so I can really relax there too. Here's some pics:

Darren-

Welcome back, mate!  Glad to hear that things are well, and that your son is recovering nicely.  It really hasn't been quite the same around here w/o you.  Of course you can join the WWI GB, I think we all were rather hoping you would.  I'll go ahead and put you on the list!

Sign - Welcome [#welcome]

Roy-

Thanks buddy!  I'm just glad my move is about 1/2 mile away, not all of the way across the country!  But, I have to admit- I am a LITTLE jealous, I have wanted to move to Florida for a while now.

Hey fella’s how’s everyone doing?Wink [;)]

You guys sure have been busy around here! I am glad to say that I have left some very bad days behind me. First came a bad week at work, second, my son was taken into hospital with a very nasty dose of pneumonia. He was very ill for a while there and we were at our wits end. Thank God he has made a full recovery and is back to his normal cheeky self again.

As you will expect, I have had zero time in the workshop, I’m just grerateful that I’ve got my little boy back. Approve [^]Thumbs Up [tup]

This is the first chance I’ve had to read through your posts, so I’m gonna add my two pennies worth here in one post so I don’t mess up our flight pattern!Clown [:o)]

Darren,

Wow! Very fine work indeed mate!
I love the 109’s and the Grey Nurse Spitfire is beautifully done, I have wanted to build one of those RAAF Spits for a while now.

Bob,

Hey fella- you’ve got some great builds there! I love the way you’ve painted that ‘190 and the Wildcat looks superb!

Dave,

Wow! Thats all I can say. The Sunderland, the Stuka............museum pieces if ever I saw some.

Frank,

Woo-Hoo! Gorgeous Zero mate! The extra effort was well worth it.

Mike,

1000 posts! Congratulations! Nice work on the Spit buddy.

Triumf,

Excellent work on the Tarpon. I like that paint scheme a lot.

Roy!
heartiest congratulations on your new job! Thats fantastic news!Party [party]Thumbs Up [tup]Make a Toast [#toast]Party [party]

Well, its all go around here! An extra large thanks to Frank for handing out the rum ration and whats this? Pics of our work area’s? A new GB?
My goodness!

So Frank,

can I join your GB old chap?  I have a neiuport in the stash, just needed an excuse to build it. Oh, and hanging with you crazy bas......erm.....jolly nice chaps has been  a real blast!Big Smile [:D]Big Smile [:D]Whistling [:-^] I hope we share many more group builds in the future.

Right now, my son and I are off for pizza and a movie-I will see you all later. Dinner [dinner]Make a Toast [#toast]

The SBD-3 I picked up was the first kit in at least 10 plus years.  I still need to pick up a biplane and a Spitfire.  To date I have 46 kits.

Leon & Frank, the move should happen without any problems.  Frank good luck on your move also buddy.

Leon-

Funny, I just made the same self-imposed rule last week!  Not sure if I can do it, but figure I have to at least try.

A couple of months ago, I sat down with a calculator to see how long it would take me to build my entire stash (at my current build rate) assuming I NEVER bought another kit, and figured it would take about 157 years to finish them all.

What colours would they be painted, what what would the insignias be and other then the wing are there any other noticable diferences?

Thanks, i don`t know very much about the fleet air arm so you help is much appreciate.

Alain,

Most of the differences were very subtle, the most obvious (and identifiable) was the clipped wing tips.  The outer eight inches was cut off so that the planes would fit inside the hangars bellowdecks with the wings folded.

triumf, it looks like you have one GB badge under another one. Try eliminating the <enter> between the two links and replace it with a <space> instead. That should put one next to the other with a small gap in between.

Thanks a bunch mate. That did the trick jupp. ObligedBow [bow]

I changed the title of the WWI to reflect the new name "Knights of the Sky" (Thanks Waikong!) and put the GB badge from Wing Nut (Thanks Marc!) on the opening page.  Thanks EVERYONE for the support and the help, it's gonna be an AWESOME GB!

Alain- my girlfriend wants to know what kind of dog that is on your avatar.

Eduard kits are quite popular, not to pricey yet a lot of bang for the buck, and there's a wide selection in both 1/48 and 1/72 scale. Rigging is one of the more daunting aspects of building WWI aircraft, and different aircraft had varying amounts of it, so depending on how comfortable you think you'd be doing rigging, you can let that also be a factor in which aircraft you choose.
