Fleet Air Arm Group Build

Congradulations Roy   too bad about the having to move part though.  Did that two years ago and vowed never to do it again (ya right)!!

After 16 years of being a professional musician my wife is finishing up her teaching degree so that she can teach music in the schools.  I think she is nuts, all you teachers have my highest regards for the difficult work that you do!!!   

(I know this becasue I was one of the difficult ones )

Dave, waikong came up with an idea of "Knights of the Sky" for the GB name. I think it's a cool idea, so if our leader OK's it, then it could be a go.

triumf, it looks like you have one GB badge under another one. Try eliminating the <enter> between the two links and replace it with a <space> instead. That should put one next to the other with a small gap in between.

Do you have any sugestions on what kit, i`ve never built a wwI plane?

I changed the title of the WWI to reflect the new name "Knights of the Sky" (Thanks Waikong!) and put the GB badge from Wing Nut (Thanks Marc!) on the opening page.  Thanks EVERYONE for the support and the help, it's gonna be an AWESOME GB!

I got myself a corsair today that i want to build as a fleet air arm corsair. I need some help though, whats the diference between an American and a Britsh corsair?

Most of the differences were very subtle, the most obvious (and identifiable) was the clipped wing tips.  The outer eight inches was cut off so that the planes would fit inside the hangars bellowdecks with the wings folded.

What colours would they be painted, what what would the insignias be and other then the wing are there any other noticable diferences?

I'm looking in to wwi builds. I have always wanted to do one, so I will probably (big suprise) break my self imposed rule to not buy any more kits for the rest of the year... I just hope that some day, I am able to build the stash down to only a couple. Do any of you have this problem...?

Funny, I just made the same self-imposed rule last week!  Not sure if I can do it, but figure I have to at least try.

A couple of months ago, I sat down with a calculator to see how long it would take me to build my entire stash (at my current build rate) assuming I NEVER bought another kit, and figured it would take about 157 years to finish them all.

The SBD-3 I picked up was the first kit in at least 10 plus years.  I still need to pick up a biplane and a Spitfire.  To date I have 46 kits.

Leon & Frank, the move should happen without any problems.  Frank good luck on your move also buddy.

Hey fella’s how’s everyone doing?

You guys sure have been busy around here! I am glad to say that I have left some very bad days behind me. First came a bad week at work, second, my son was taken into hospital with a very nasty dose of pneumonia. He was very ill for a while there and we were at our wits end. Thank God he has made a full recovery and is back to his normal cheeky self again.

As you will expect, I have had zero time in the workshop, I’m just grerateful that I’ve got my little boy back.

This is the first chance I’ve had to read through your posts, so I’m gonna add my two pennies worth here in one post so I don’t mess up our flight pattern!
