Welcome back, mate!  Glad to hear that things are well, and that your son is recovering nicely.  It really hasn't been quite the same around here w/o you.  Of course you can join the WWI GB, I think we all were rather hoping you would.  I'll go ahead and put you on the list!

Thanks buddy!  I'm just glad my move is about 1/2 mile away, not all of the way across the country!  But, I have to admit- I am a LITTLE jealous, I have wanted to move to Florida for a while now.

Here's where I do my plastic butchering!

My workshop is set at the bottom of my garden and is surrounded with a nice view of the plants outside. There's windows all round so I get plenty of light and when I use the airbrush, I just throw the doors open for ventilation. Also, its lovely and quiet so I can really relax there too. Here's some pics:

Glad to hear your son is ok, and you definitely win the prize for coolest workshop! It looks like a nice little retreat. Now I understand how come you are able to put in so much workshop time and build so quickly .

You are very kind about my workshop too, I know that I'm very lucky to have my own little hideaway. I am working 14 hr shifts this week so I am just chilling with a beer at home before the next shift. I am planning to get some hobby time on my day off so hopefully I'll have something to show soon.

Frank, I hear about people using salt to get a certain look.  I think I know but Im not sure if its the same thing.  Could/would you explain that to me

That technique is way cool.  According to the article the paint used for the red insignias held up better.  What if you used salt for the main color then before you painted the insignias you used a little more salt to give them a different level of paint chip.  Would this work?

Sounds like a feasible idea!  I think you should go for it, and post pics of your results!

That I will!  First I need to get this move out of the way.  I was thinking that when we all finish the group builds that we have going we should consider a Japanese group build.  Remember I told you that I have a 1/48 Tamiya Zero52c.  This would be way down the road.  By then I hope my skill level will be close behind the rest of the group  Again a very cool article.
