I opened my Secret Santa gift, thanks Mike (ruddrat)

Mike gave me a 1/48 Tamiya Spitfire Mk1 with a Cutting Edge resin seat and white metal wheels, prop, prop hub and exhaust.  Very cool

Very cool  After doing the Revell kit I can't wait to get into the Tamiya.  I have already decided to do the markings with the one black wing.

Good score Mike!  I have one of those (w/o skis) in my stash, but have not built it yet.

Roy- I am planning on doing a version with one black wing on mine too!  They sure would look cool lined up next to each other.

Yes they would  Im doing the No. 92 Squadron call letters QJB.  That black wing just looks cool.

Thanks alot for the Indianapolis Frank(daywalker). I've really wanted to try one of tamyas waterline series models for a while.

I've only read quick articles adout Indianapolis' sinking but no books. It really does sound like a horrific story.

It's been a quiet holiday at home so I have the camo on the Fulmar.  Had to respray a couple of areas but I'm happy with it.

Pretty quite around here, too. Just the wife and myself. She's going to play with some of the new 'puter software I got her for Christmas today, and I plan on getting some work in at the bench. Glad I moved here......if I was still living in the states, I'd be working today. Gotta love Boxing Day!

Mike, I meant to mention it but I used silly putty for the first time (as a result of doing some holiday shopping in the toy aisle) and it was so easy that it was silly!!!  No really !  Sure beat the heck out of cutting tape masks and there were no ridges on the lines when you pulled it off.  Highly recommended!

Well i'm going to have to do it, Darren, mate, put me down for a Has Hellcat in overall gloss sea blue from the carrier Indomitable, nice and simple to get me back into the swing, but it will have a zoom set in it...

Darren, that will look sweet when it's done  So, did you read my post about build our gifts on this build?  We need your Ok for this.  After all you are our CO.  Plus I don't want you to cut back the rum as a form of punisment for going over your head

Yes Roy, I quite agree! We should definately build our gift models here. I wonder who will be first? Should we set a date or just start them when we are ready? I think build them when we are ready, how does everyone feel about it?

I bet that would be a lot of fun, a gang of pirate hooligans getting drunk and watching Dogfights.

As for the SS builds, I agree that we should post them here and everyone can start whenever they're ready to.  As for me, it may be a little bit as I have quite a few others I would like to finish up first.  But, I really can't wait to get started on my new Spit!

Every Wednesday night 6-8 the guys at the LHS (Hobbytown USA) has us come in and chat about models, bring in what we are working on and talk about the kits on the shelves that we want.  I missed last week when they had drawings for free stuff, kits, optivisors and such.  Man I could kick myself.  One of the guys had the Tamiya 1/32 F-16 block 50.  Talk about a WAY cool kit.  One guy (employee) is working on the 1/48 Monogram Devastator.  Looks great, just wanted to share with you guys.
