A little light relief............

I've been out on the town  with my gorgeous girl Shelley tonight as we have now been married for ten years!!

We've had a few adventures along the way and ten wonderful years of married bliss. I have no idea why she still puts up with me but I'm so happy that she does.

Lads........this is the lady who told the bar staff to serve me double wiskeys after my dessert! I love her to bits!!

Been to Edinburgh....but no farther south.....no big mugs like that at home.....but I have something here that says "London Dry" on the label.....and so I shall hoist one!

Good news  I found my Waldron punch set  I had lost it in the move and while I was repacking some boxs I found it.  Now I can make the compass for my Spitfire IP.

Ok, I'm at work and only two more days to go!

Dreadful weather here today, it was 34 and raining all day yesterday.  Last night, it got BAD.

Temp dropped to 5 degrees with 15 below zero wind-chills, and we have lots of snow blowing around in winds gusting over 50mph.  The rain froze on everything making getting into one's car difficult!  And the driving is in blizzard-like conditions.  Luckily, my truck was in the heated garage all night so I was able to get out and about to help save a couple of damsels-in-distress this morning before work!

Frank your a good man.  I do miss the cold weather.

I was telling my wife that maybe Canada or Alaska still has land for homesteading.  To be honest with you guys I miss the mountains and snow.

Lads, its Christmas Eve........and I am nursing the mother of all hang-overs.

So this morning its a brisk walk in the country for me and lots of black coffee.

I do believe that we can all open our gift exchange presents tonight? I'll tear mine open around 18.00 hrs GMT-I can't wait!

That's a bummer Darren!  Yes, I think a good long waik and LOTS of coffee is just the right medicine for you and your aching head!

Daz I hope you enjoy the kit and I'm sure you'll do your usual outstanding job on it.

It's Christmas morning here in Aus and the kids have just finished opening their presents and are going nuts.  I have to try and figure out how to plug in the Wii and get that working.  As for dad well my lovely wife got me the Eduard Bf110c isn't she a sweety.

WOOHOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just opened my SS gift and I got an Airfix 1/48 Spitfire Mk.I early and a Spitfire book with some truly amazing photos in it!  Darren- YOUDAMAN!!!

I have wanted to build one of these for as long as I can remember.  I built the HAsegawa early one in 1/72 many moons ago, and have wanted one in 1/48 ever since.  I am sooo excited!

Now, for the funny part of the story...

The package arrived at the beginning of the month, and Katie (my girlfriend) thought it would look much better under the tree outside of the original packaging (Darren showed a photo of it wrapped a while back) so she carried it down to the shop out of sight "just in case" the wrapping had been damaged.  A few moments later she came back upstairs saying "oh, no- it's not wrapped!"  So, she dutifully retaped it and placed it under the tree as it sat.  It drove me absolutely CRAZY that she knew what it was and I didn't.  But, no matter how hard I begged, she would NOT tell me what it was.  Instead, taunting with things like"well, what do you THINK it is?"  Aaarrrggghhh...

Well, it was FINALLY time to open it!  So, I tore it open and found a 1/48 B-25.  Very cool kit, but not exactly what I was hoping for.  Still, I was jazzed to finally be able to build that Dolittle Raider plane.  Katie asks "Are you excited?"  I was, so I opened up the box...

Inside, we found bubble a wrapped package in bubble wrap.  Now we're both thinking "what is it?"  She's thinking I can't believe I thought it was a different kit all month.  Inside the wrapped package was my Airfix early Spit!  WOOHOO!!!

Thank you so much Darren for the kit I have wanted for SO long, the excellent book, and the very nice card.  You made my day buddy!

I'm so glad you liked what I sent you! Sorry for the slightly confusing packaging-I wanted to make sure your kit wasn't damaged in transit. Its made my day to read that I made yours.
