yea im getting my mojo back.

i finished the decals and gave it another coat of future on the bottom side.

went on my annual memorial day atv trip up in the north woods of wisconsin

last weekend.

was able to relax and get a better outlook on things.

Aweekend in the woods is always nice invertman, looking forward to seeing some more pics of the condor soon.

I had a set abck on the 234's yesterday.  One of the canopies is kaput!  A mold flaw that I originally thought I could sand out and repolish but it went all the way through the plastic so I will have to try to do a vac form on it but that isn't likely to happen soon.  So what i'm saying is that I am down to three 234's for this group build.  At least it will help with the gas bill right Mucker? 

Hi all, I was working on my Stuka this morning and I had an accident.  I had it outside because after soaking it in windex I started sanding and rescribing lines.  I went inside and when I came out the wind blew it off the table!!!  Luckily that Stuka is a tough bird, the wings came off and I put those back together easily.( I don't think it would have faired to well if it had a Spitfire behind it though) Anyway the tail wheel suffered the most.  The one piece is just mangled and the rest flew in the bushes some where.  Does anyone think they have a replacement?  I don't know how many of you have built the 1/32 scale.  Any advice would be appreciated.

I don't have any donor kits for a 1/32 Ju-87, Chris, sorry.  It may be scratchbuilding time! 

I put the last color on the Ju-388 camouflage tonight, came out pretty well.  Somehow I need to dirty it up some though, looks way too clean compared to the photos I have.

Sorry to hear about your luck...I. too, have no replacements for it. Is it salvagable with a little touch up, as jeaton01 was getting at? It might be a nice addition to your build to have a "modified" wheel to show your repair skills!

Just a thought. The other (more expenseive) route is to grab a set of aftermarket wheels and tires. True Details is usually pretty reasonable.

Hey Thanks any way Guys.  The wheel itself is fine but I had a few pieces for the brace....but I can't find them!  I have never scratch built anything like that before anyway.(I don't think you would want to see what it would have looked like!!)  I guess I will try to find a replacement from True Details.

Whooa! The mojo is back in a big way, Invertman! I love those panel lines...the Condor is strarting to come to life!

I think you did the right thing...sometimes stepping away from the bench for a short "time out" is what it takes to rejuvinate. Keep those pics coming!

I think maybe I don't like decals that say Propagteam on them..... I got all of the hakkencrosses on there, and the codes on the lower wings, but the fuselage codes beat me.  Just as well, because the ones I did get on without disaster showed me that they were way too big.  I did some new ones in Corel Draw and finally got them printed on inkjet decal paper tonight.  I have to do a small repair on the fuselage paint but not much.  Two steps forward, one step back.  Sometimes two back, even.  I'll get some photos posted later this week.  Almost all the detail bits are painted, so there is a lot of progress.  But, it is hard to show right now.

The pictures of the Condor are great, it is going together well!

John, I think creating and printing your own decals is considered "scratchbuilding", yes? I can't wait to see the pictures, and, again, I admire your perserverance and good spirits handling a difficult kit.

My modeling time in general has all but come to a halt for the next 6 weeks. We're having  about 70% of the basement finished, which means that 100% of the stuff there (including my modelling area) is condensed into the remaining 30% of the area while they work on it. I can squeeze into the bench and made sure I moved the bench near an outlet so the airbrush is hooked up!

Hang in there Charles!  I assume the reason for the basement work is to get a more suitable modelling venue, right?

Got the decals printed and sealed last night.  Hope they and myself hang together for the application.

Well that's what the wife said originally, but after a review of the revised plans there sure seemed to be a lot of HER stuff placed all around...imagine that.

Decals are such a hot and cold item. I've had some old ones dissolve as they hit the water, some thick ones that wouldn't conform to shape with a blow torch, and then everything in between. It's frustrating to get down to the exciting stage of he build where the airplane takes on its character to find out you have a bum set of decals.

I'm anxious to see pics!

Sorry been outta touch...lots of things going on, I just closed on a new house and had lots of running around to prepare for that so not much building, I was also away for Memorial day weekend. Oh well nto much progress on ole 177 got more sanding to do on the wing/fuselage seam but i went with thinned out putty and got ggod results I see the end soon hopefully before I begin my move. I will be readly for base coats this week.

Well, some pictures.  Since I took these all I've done is make a clear piece to go over the top of that antenna on the aft fuselage spine, attach it with white glue, and started filling the landing light in the left wing leading edge with white glue.  There were no transparent parts in the kit for either of these details.  It's a slow process because it is taking several applications of the glue with drying times in between.  I've been working on an A-1E for the Allied Aircraft in Viet Nam GB while the drying has been going on.  I'm going to have to overcoat the Ju-388 with some lightened 70 and 71 so it has a more suitable look.  The KW TB's on the fuselage sides are decals made with an inkjet, and the swastikas on the fin are aftermarket.  The rest of the decals are Propagteam from the kit.  I applied the decals with Future, no sets or sols.  The Future is only where the decals are.  The surface detail is very fine and I was afraid full coats of Future would cause too much loss.

John that Ju 388 is looking very nice!   Can;t wait to see it finished.

I have been working steadily on my flight of Ar 234s but when yoou times everything by 4 it just seems to take soooooo long to get everything done.  I don't think I want to try this again anytime soon.  However things are starting to take shape on the Arado factory floor.  All four cockpits are completed and I've started on the engines.  Nothing on these Dragon kits just fall together.  Dry fitting of all parts and often modification is needed to make sure it all works.  The C model engines so far have been the worst.

I was able to get a hold of dragon customer service and I may (they have to order it from china - if its avaialable) be able to get a replacement conopy for the one that had the flaw in it so I am proceeding with the fourth kit and hoping that they come through.

Looking really good, Dave! I'm glad to hear the 4th bird in your bomb squad is going to remain with the squadron for a while.

Do you have a specific display methid ready for these when they're done? That has to be really impressive to see all 4 in some type of formation. Make sure to post the "family photos" when you're done, also.

So far as a GB I  think we've gotten pretty good results. 4 of 15 participants finished so far, with Jeaton01, Carsanab, Invertman and Dave right on the brim of completion. THat would make 8 of 15 (over half) and we're not quite at the mid-way point. From a total production standpoint we'll have 11 of a possible 20 bombers completed!

I have not given that any thought actually,  Mainly because my workshop is in disaray from renovation projects and my built models are all stashed away somewhere else.  I just have to finish the mudding on the drywall around my work bench and then I can put up some shelves.  I'm really looking forward to the finished product  but I also have to paint the kitchen first too.

Dave... good looking progress.  Nice tight formation but the wind blast must be something fierce

Dave, man, do I know what you mean! We're in the process of finishing our basement which has turned my hobby bench into this:

I squeeze in between the tables a few times a week now, but I'm looking forward to when I can take over the basement again and start decorating the "hangar".

sorry i havent posted for a while, i've been doing the same thing as carnasab....

for the past 3 weeks the wife and i have been out pounding the pavement for a

new home.

between work,coaching my sons baseball team and house shopping its been pretty

buisy around here.

i took the week of the 4th off from work for some rest so i hope to make some progress.

i'll tell you what.....buying your first home is kinda scary!!!
