In the next day or two, I will be getting a Heinkel He 111.  What manufacturer would you guys  suggest? I would like it in 1/48.  Thanks.

Feld: I'm pretty sure Monogram/Revell is the only one who makes it in 1/48.I'm building the Monogram version right now and I have to say it is fairly nice. There is also a ProModeler version available, and if your hobby shop doesn't have it, eBay usually does. Everytoystore.com used to carry the Monogram kit for $10, but I don't see it listed anymore.

I've found that AM decals are getting harder to come by.

Make sure to post pics of your progress.

I was wonder what the big BUUUUUURP sound was coming from WSW of my house.

Looks like I may be able to start mine soon.  Ans since someone else's Ju 88 C was let in I guess yahafta let mine on too.  PLEEEEASESmile [:)]

Since I have absolutely zero ref materials onthe 88 I may go IPMS OOB rules.  Marking yet to be decided.

Marc: You're in as a "C".

What do you need reference wise? I have a few books with chapters on the 88. I'll see what I can scan and e-mail it to you. But not tonight...tonight is Cincinnati Cyclones hockey!

Thanks Mucker, I would like to find out the paints for the kit before I head to the store.  If not I'll have to take a list of my paints then.

ModelMan: Looking nice...keep those pics coming!

Thad: Dang that's nice! It provides inspiration, although I re-rediscovered over the weekend that when you know you are tired and low on patience, don't work on the model. I botched the white paint on the engine nacelles and now neew to sand and re-paint.

Marc: Poof!  Main page updated. If you can make a 1/144 scale plane look detailed, I can't wait to see the magic you perform on a 1/72 kit. I think one of the rules stated that the plane can't actually fly when you're done building....

KINGTHAD, your kit turned out good.  Well I went to my local hobby shop, and they didn't have it.  I know of another hobby shop, but that'll have to wait till this weekend.

Hey All...

It took a while what with working late and all but here's an update of my 177...

Got the cockpit built now I need to start the other positions gunners and gondola, then close the fuselage. The fuselage looks like its going to take some putty work, no guides or locate pins oh well lets see what happens..

Invertman....your pits are looking real good!!

Keep up the good work all!

Great work, invertman and Carlos, and nice photos too.  I hope I don't get thrown out of the build when I start posting pictures.  Of course that will have to wait until I actually start building!  I'm in two other builds, but should start on my Ju-388K late next week.

Invertman and carsanab - wow, great work you two!  Cool [8D] Thumbs Up [tup] Thumbs Up [tup]

I'm attempting to get my hands on one of the new Dornier Do.17 kits by Classic Airframes the first of which comes out next month.  If I can get one, I'll do that for this build instead.  Cool [8D]

Don't mind my airbrush.Whistling [:-^]  I have had it for four years and it cost twenty bucks.  It is difficult to use but it gets the job done.Thumbs Up [tup]

MOdelman8:

The color looks nice and smooth. One recommendation would be to fill in the seam a little more on the aft fuselage underside and shoot with one more cote  of paint...just my 2 cents.

I can't wait to see how she turns out!

Finally some progress worth reporting.

Interior is done...mostly.  I may add some extra wiring to the instrumtents. And yes the paint on the bottom parts of the bombs is sloppy... only a msll part of the top can be seen in the windows.  When I getthat far... the gun barrels will be replkaced with some from Quickboost.  PE brass belt and gunsights is a nice addition Dragon put inthe Hasegawa box.

Thumbs Up [tup]Great work everyone!

I finally have some progress to report.  My Ju88 is taking shape, and I have started on the Do217 as well.  I am actually waiting on a shipment of canopy/wheel masks, so I figure that I'll go as far as I can while waiting for those masks to arrive.

Ju88 (pictures aren't great)

Ju88 landing strut and cockpit

With the Do217, I seem to have a fixation on putting in additional wiring detailing even though I expect that very little of it will be visible.  But a few years from now when I'm looking at this build, I'll know there is a bunch of wiring in there.

Cockpit shots

This last photo shows some of the wiring that I will run around to the back of the IP.

Wow, lots of great work happening around here.  Aggieman, Marc, ModelMan8, Carlos, Invertman:  all your build are coming alog nicely.  I've been waiting for my fourth kit to arrive in the mail but I just might have to get started without it or I'll be left in the dust.

Wing_Nut and AggieMan: Wow...you guys are cruising along. Stellar looking builds so far...both of you!

I'm jealous! I've been sidetracked again, this time with a 1:1 scale model...I'm tiling the kitchen. WAY OFF topic, eh? Another thing holding me up is I ran across some rare Aeromaster decals for a desert scheme He-111 and I'm waiting for them to arrive. I need to buy some RLM 79, so I'll try to do that overthe weekend. With any luck I'll finish the tile tomorrow and have Sunday to model.
