Mike,

SO, you're gonna build an F-16?  OK, I'll build one too!  I have an old Hasegawa F-16A that I took the top fuse piece and started using it as a paint hack.  But, the rest of the kit is intact so I think I am gonna strip the paint and turn it into a finished piece.  Wish me luck!

Here's how the fuse looks this morning:

You can see the blue from my Corsair on the nose, the FAA Seafire colors right behind that, and my "spot" practice from my ME-109E trop.

Look at that...

One hour and I already have a progress pic!

The Easy-Off oven cleaner took the paint right off of the fuse.  However, I painted the office parts many moons ago before I even had an airbrush so they will take quite a bit longer to get the old paint off.  VERY thick layer of brushed-on paint...Banged Head [banghead]

Well, here's the fuse, progress! Big Smile [:D]

More progress than I've made in the last 3 days! Tongue [:P]

That would have been one funky-looking Viper, Frank! Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg]

LOL Mike!  I've got most of the paint off of the cockpit parts, but that thick, 10 year old paint is proving to be a lot of work!

(Are you gonna be mad at me if I ask to change my entry one more time?) Confused [%-)]

Thanks Mike!  Please put me down for a Hasegawa 1/48 F-16A.  I was working on the office and pilot last night (see my "garbage disposal warning post" over in aircraft!) and I am making progress! Big Smile [:D]

Mike, just got back from Vancouver and I may have to change my build for this as well.  I picked up the Academy 1/72 scale P-38 over at Finescale Hobbies and I may choose to do that first rather than the F-104.  Don't change the front page just yet, I won't be starting for awhile and I haven't made up my mind completely, just want to give you a heads up.  Also, I wouldn't want to interupt you snow shoveling rythym Wink [;)]

Sounds like a great pick-up, Dave! Thumbs Up [tup] I'm curious to know what your initial impressions of the kit are (been thinking about grabbing one myself).

....and if you decide to change your entry, that's not a problem my friend! I'll try to get any more snowfall to hold off until then. Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg]

Beautiful photos mucker!  I really want to build one of the T-bird's F-16s, but have never been able to find a set of markings for one. Boohoo [BH]

I don't remember seeing that one when I was in Akron last year.  But, my girlfriend said she is willing to go back this year for another visit! Party [party]

Not Akron, Frank, the Dayton Air Force Museum. And if you do plan a visit, letr me know...I live about 90 minutes away and am always looking for a good reason to get back. It's an amazing place and I always have a new "favorite" or "must build" after each visit. My wife wonders why I have to phtograph the same planes each time I go back...

Oops! Dunce [D)] Sorry, meant Dayton OH.  The main reason we went last year was so that I could see the XB-70 up close.  Well, it doesn't get much closer than this!

I'll let you know if I get to go back this year, maybe we could meet up there! Thumbs Up [tup]

Oh, and I did find the GML-2007 photos. Here are some awesome pictures a friend of mine took. His camera blows mine away for distance shots like these:

And me and the boys wishing we could climb right in...

Here is how she loooked at the end of play this evening.

Great pics, guys! Has me thinking I should have visited that place one more time before moving this far west. Sigh [sigh]

Darren, that looks great from where I'm sitting, my friend! Fading the black to avoid a monochromatic look was an excellent move. I'm looking forward to seeing this one done and what you come up with for one of your signature display bases. They really make your builds stand out! Thumbs Up [tup]

As long as your out West Mike you should arrange a visit to Seattle next time you fly down to Vancouver and visit the Museum of Flight.  I haven't been there yet myself but I sure would like to go some day.

Thanks for your kind words lads-I still have so much to do! My son is off school at the moment so I won't have too much bench time until the evening. I am still taking lots of pics of the base in progress so I can do a "how to" later.
