Why don't you do like I did last year?
I live in Italy, but I got my recipient's gift at Squadron's in the US and had it sent to him paying only US domestic shipping.

Will they still do that? These days with internet credit card fraud as rampant as it is, most merchants online won't ship except to the address associated with the credit card.

As far as I know, they still do that: it's a "gift" option. You have the merchandise billed to your address and the items sent to another one.

I don't see the risk of frauds in that.

BTW Italian government has decided to anticipate Christmas from this year on, in order not to have Christmas and the new year's festivities too close together. The new date for X-Mas is ...
AS SOON AS I GET MY PACKET!!!! Big Smile [:D]

It is true that many online stores willnot ship to a different address.  It is a safety thing that is usully imposed by the credit card issuer.  Call them to see if that is the case with your card and should be able to allow it.  My own business CC had a PO Box address and I couldn't have stuff sent to myselfConfused [%-)] until the CC added my own home address.

Yeah due to fraud, most merchants online(if they are smart) require that the address you give them and they ship to match the one on your credit card.

Amazon among other retailers can ship somewhere else... very convenient when we drive to visit family for Christmas, we order the gifts and they meet us at our destination... I think what they do sometimes is either send an automated email or phone number to the home of record.

I dont know man, between me and the wife joining up I have only got enough money for one shot at this. So I have got to make sure it goes to the right one. Im crossing my fingers and hoping that the persons preference is 1/72 WWII aircraft, then I might have some money left over.

OK- All aboard who's going aboard!

Registration is closed!

It will take me a few days to get all the emails out, so if you don't get one, don't panic. It will likely take me until Sunday to get all the pairings sent out.

Thanks to everyone for signing up- the fun is only just starting, I promise.

Remember- it's about the giving!

Okay everyone, check your stash closet.  Drew hasn't posted here for nearly two days and I'm worried he accidentally got locked in someone's closet while rifling through their stash (kinda like my cats always do).

OK, now.  Wonder which one of you guys is going to get the Starfix Spitfire from my stash (Insert sinister laugh)

Just kidding.  Already looking forward to Christmas!

OK.... I've sent out about 1/3 of the emails this morning. I'll finish up today and tommorow.

Some real important stuff:

  1. Let me know as soon as you receive the email/PM telling you who your recipient is
  2. If you cannot participate, let me know immediately
  3. If you have any questions, let me know
  4. Have fun! :-)

Thanks to all of you for participating!

God bless each of you!

I just had a good question from someone, and I thougt I'd let everyone know-

When I send you the info on who your recipient is, I include their email. This is for after Christmas.... try to keep things as much a surprise as possible. Of course, when they receive the package, they'll know who the sender is. But let's keep it as fun as possible- so no pestering your Santa for clues!

So surprise is the order of the day!

Hopefully, after Christmas and the presents are open, you can email your recipient and receive an even better gift- a new friend! (And if you already know them- a stronger friendship!)

You guys (and gal!) are great, and I am so thankful for each of you!

OK- I've sent out all the emails! Check your inbox, and let me know if you haven't received anything from me.

If you've got questions, please let me know. Some folks- quite a few in fact- had questions on time periods, scales, etc. Contact me with questions and I'll be glad to help you out!

One thing to note- please wrap your kit in Christmas wrapping before wrapping for mailing. That way your recipeint will be able to have a wrapped kit sitting under the tree...... driving them crazy! LOL

Thanks for everyone's participation.

Please email me if you have any questions, problems, etc.
