Or a B-29 with the weapons set!!!!  Hey drew, you might want to check your fingers.  I had misted my stash with a subatomic particle beam that changes peoples fingers orange.  Now your fingers should start liooking like you have eaten 6 bags of Cheetos Big Smile [:D]

I know I haven't said much, I've been really busy with work and school. But, I must say that I'm pretty excited for this year's secret santa event. I'm not sure what I'm going to get for my Santa-ee yet... but I've got some time. Boy will he be suprised! I think Jon knows what I meanWink [;)] I'm glad to see all you guys (and galSmile,Wink, & Grin [swg]) getting so excited by this, it was really a stroke of genius by Jon to set this up last year. Even though i haven't finished my model from last year (I'll get it done before the 25th...) I really enjoyed getting a mystery box under the tree! And all you newcomers will too. Plus, I had a really fun time trying to pick something out for my Santa-ee... I picked from my own stash, and it was tough to get something juuust right. But I think I succeded!! Right Zip????

Well,

I got my gift for the guy I have to deal with.  Also threw in some sftermarket goodies so I hope that'll be OK with him,.....I guess I'll find that out.  I'm gonna mail mine the day after Thanksgiving.  I don't want to have the guy stewing to long before the 25th!!

Regards,

Freddie from LI

Hmmmm... I'm a bit stumped at the moment.  I looked through the local LHS today and came up empty.  I will be down by the other one tomorrow so hopefully that one will have something for me.  Given the rise in the Canadian Loonie over the US buck I dare not order something on line as I understand it could take a long time to get here with the increased traffic in parcels.

I hope my Santa is having an easier time! Wink [;)]

What to get,  What to get????. Checked the first LHS and nothing jumped out so I will look at a larger shop next week. Then again there is also a fine selection from the stash. They all seem like family though. I will have to try find out more info on my recepient before making a final decision.

Well, first my fingers always look like they have been a bag of cheetos - cause they have been Laugh [(-D]

Second, went to the LHS this afternoon, saw the perfect thing for my recipient! Yeah!! [yeah] And then raided my AM bins for any goodies I had for it, sure enough I did have some things so in they went! I think my recipient will like it. It's a 32-48-72 scale single-twin-multi engine with stars-bars-swastikas-roundels-meatballs and tricycle gear with a tail wheel Banged Head [banghead]

Take this plastic and model it!

This is pretty fun....my recipient's preference is so different from mine I rarely even pay attention to these kits....It's good fun to walk the other aisle of the LHS and see what they have on that side!

I wish my LHS had models on more than one side of the aisle Smile [:)]

I think it's great fun to go looking for kits that I don't (normally) build myself! I just hope I don't add to the umpteenth kit of that kind Smile [:)]

Sign - Ditto [#ditto] But I think I've got it figured out.  It really does pay to go back and search for the person's name and look at the posts that they make.  I'm gonna run to the LHS tomorrow, and if they don't have what I want, I'll order it tomorrow night.  HO! Another good question came up-

Someone asked should you put your return address on the package- good question!

I'd say yes, as the post office may not deliver otherwise. Sure, it will let part of the secret out- but not the kit!

We did it the same way last year, and I think it actually increased the excitement!

One word of warning: Several guys said their their wives thought they were ordering kits they'd promised not to- and almost threw them away! LOL So give her a heads up- this is a legitimate Christmas present! Big Smile [:D]

If I need to send a note home with you, I can. LOL

TLP- you should be OK in this area! Wink [;)]

Another question- when should the kit be sent?

I'd recommend no later than November 31st, to ensure it gets to your recipient on time. Sending outside the US may also take longer. I've sent some packages to Canada, and it has taken 4 weeks. Not sure how shipping to Europe is. Might want to check with the post office in your area for details. I do know in the US, 4 weeks is usually plenty of time.

If you are shipping to Canada do it as quickluy as you can.  With the stronger Canadian dollar the Customs here are being avalanched by parcells being ordered from the States.  Just a heads up. Smile [:)]

I know what y'all mean, but let me tell you what happened to me.

The kit I got was the exact kit I'd finished just a few weeks before- but I was still super excited about it. (Yes, it was a Spitfire.... LOL)

All the stuff that I thought "I wish I'd have done a better job"- I got to do the better job! It's on display now down at the LHS! Big Smile [:D]

Remember- the excitement is in the giving and the friendships! People appreciate being thought of!

And I'm so happy to see all these posts showing all this excitement- this is what it's all about friends!

God bless all fo you!

Thanks for the tip, Dave.  I think I know the kit I'm going to send, just got to order it at this point.  Hopefully get it fired off in the next few days.
